This allows the extending of the functionalities (depth of field, dynamic range) of medium and low cost digital cameras. When multi-scale decomposition is used on multi-focused images, magnification effects of the lens focusing system cause an incorrect estimation of all pixels in the final image. In our approach new techniques able to reduce these artifacts are introduced. The algorithm has been applied both on full RGB and on color filter array (CFA) images.","PeriodicalId":101716,"journal":{"name":"2005 Digest of Technical Papers. A promising way to achieve this is combination of multiple-input and multiple-output signal processing with space-time coding scheme. Naguib et al. (1988), Tarokh et al. (1998), and Hammons et al. (2000) proposed several space-time code schemes, which offer higher coding and diversity gains and are suitable for broadband applications to improve the spectrum efficiency and/or reliability of wireless applications such as in-home delivery of HDTV signals for entertainment, or high-speed computer networks based on IEEE 802.11b. In their studies, it is assumed that the multiple transmitter and receiver chains are perfect and that there is no delay or phase error among channels. This assumption, however, is difficult to warrant in practice. The time difference between transmitter and propagation paths from each transmit antenna give rise to arrival time differences in each path, which increase symbol interference and degrade the performance at the mobile receiver units. Therefore, we focus our efforts on the arrival time differences and their effects on a commercially available MIMO systems. Furthermore, we propose a compensation algorithm for a Rayleigh fading model to minimize the effects of arrival time differences.","PeriodicalId":101716,"journal":{"name":"2005 Digest of Technical Papers. This kind of unit can be used in conjunction with a home server. For example, a radio station broadcasting can be received from the Internet and fed to the mobile audio unit via a central home server. The market for home servers is expected to grow leading to a possible expansion of the market for this type of mobile audio unit. This paper presents some design aspects for the sound system of an audio unit, adapted to the new demands of the market.","PeriodicalId":101716,"journal":{"name":"2005 Digest of Technical Papers. We propose a new 42-inch LCD TV panel (1366/spl times/768) improving response time and dynamic contrast ratio with the designed one chip ASIC. The experimental result shows that the response time of gray-to-gray is about 8ms, and the dynamic contrast ratio is more than 1200:1. We also produce the on-chip-bus interface circuit, compliant with the AMBA protocol, and associated device driver so that the generated IP is ready for system-on-chip (SOC) integration.
