The swelling is usually a result of a local irritant such as calculus formation or a poorly adapted margin of a dental restoration. \u0000AIM : - The aim of this case report is removal of an epulis using diode laser, which was located at the aesthetic zone of the lower incisors, and to report on associated changes in the periodontal parameters such gingival inflammation and the position of the tooth following the introduction of an effective oral hygiene regime for the patient. \u0000OBJECTIVE :- To evaluate the outcome of surgically excised Epulis using diode laser located at the aesthetic zone of the lower incisors in a 27 years old female patient. \u0000METHODOLOGY :- Surgical excision of Epulis by diode laser (810 nm) under local anesthesia. \u0000RESULT :- Complete re-epithelization and healing was seen at 1 and 4 weeks time interval. \u0000CONCLUSION :- Epulis is observed in patients with poor oral hygiene in areas with local irritating factors. Tissue excision should not extend beyond to the periosteum and adjacent teeth should be thoroughly scaled to remove any source of irritation. Coagulation properties associated with the use of diode laser are beneficial during removal of tumors of inflammatory origin with bleeding tendencies. There is less post-operative bleeding, pain and swelling. \u0000Keywords: Diode laser, Oral lesions, Epulis granulomatosa, Female

These can cause discomfort to the patient and often causes difficulty in oral hygiene maintenance. This case report presents a case of a fibro-epithelial hyperplasia in a 37 years old female, who presented with a localized diffuse type of gingival enlargement in the left maxillary posterior teeth region. Based on clinical and histopathological evaluation the diagnosis of fibro-epithelial hyperplasia was made. The patient was then kept on regular follow-up and no recurrence of the lesion could be appreciated till date.

Thus we aim to compare serum CRP levels in pregnant women with and without periodontitis. \u0000Methods: A total of 222 pregnant women aged between 18-45 years were recruited in study and divided into two groups Group A:- Pregnant patient without periodontitis (n=100) and Group B:- Pregnant patient with periodontitis (n=122). Different clinical parameters such as plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), probing depth (PD) and clinical attachment loss (CAL) were evaluated. A 2 ml of blood sample was taken from antecubital vein for quantative serum CRP analysis. \u0000Results: The mean CRP level in Group B was found to be higher (4.22 + 2.247 mg/L) than Group A (1.55 + 0.702 mg/L). In both the groups, statistically significant and positive correlation of PI with GI and CRP level was found (p < 0.05). Similarly, in Group B, PI showed a positive correlation with PD & CAL whereas, PD showed a similar correlation with CAL & CRP level was statistically significant. (p < 0.05). \u0000Conclusion: Periodontitis influenced the serum CRP levels in pregnant patients representing increased inflammatory burden.

The maxillary occlusal cant is commonly associated with asymmetry. Orthognathic surgery combined with orthodontic treatment has been the treatment of choice for correcting an occlusal cant. However, not all patients with facial asymmetry are surgical candidates, patient assessment and selection remain critical components of diagnosis and treatment planning. In this case report, the patient declined any invasive treatment; hence, we opted to treat this facially asymmetrical patient with orthodontic therapy using straightforward mechanics via TADs, which resulted in an exceptional success.

Current trendsindicate that the surge is higher in patient with co-morbidities. Health care facilities need tostrengthen their infection prevention and control (IPC) programmes to prevent healthcare-associated outbreaks. Therefore, we conducted a cross-sectional survey of health-care workers in Rajasthan toassess their awareness of Mucormycosis as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, aswell as to learn about the possible link between invasive fungal sinusitis (mucormycosis) andcoronavirus disease, as well as how to prevent and manage it.MethodologyA web based cross–sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling. A self-administered anonymous questionnaire was designed in English and sent to the studyparticipants via link of Google form through social media platforms and email. Total of 378HCPs responded to survey.ResultsOut of 378 HCPs, majority of them were female (68.8%) with age <30 years (73.3%) and ofthese respondents most were dentists (82.2%).In assessing awareness of mucormycosis, 66.7%of HCPs believed the cause of the highprevalence of mucormycosis during COVID-19 was due to the higher prevalence of diabetes, indiscriminate use of steroids, immunocompromised patients with co-morbidities, usage ofunhygienic humidifiers & o2 lines and tubes. 57.9% of HCPs surveyed agreed that carefuland supervised use of systemic steroids should be consistent with current practice and 62.2%of HCPs agree that we need dynamic surveillance and control of diabetes mellitus or pre-diabetes in our population. \u0000ConclusionFirst case of Covid-19-related Mucormycosis has now been found in Chile. Aloe vera (AV) belonging to the Liliaceae Family, presents with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and immune boosting properties. It also promotes wound healing by accelerating epithelial cell migration and collagen maturation, facilitating tissue restoration. This study aims at investigating the clinical effectiveness of locally delivered AV gel used as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) in the treatment of chronic periodontitis (CP).MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sixty patients with probing depth (PD) ≥5mm and clinical attachment (CA) level ≥3mm were randomly divided into two groups. All patients underwent SRP. Aloe Vera gel was locally delivered in Group 1 patients and Placebo in Group 2 patients. Clinical recording of full mouth plaque index (PI), bleeding index (BI), probing depth (PD) and clinical attachment (CA) level was done first at baseline and then at intervals of 3 months and 6 months.RESULT: Patients in AV group showed significantly greater mean reductions in PI, BI and PD and mean gain in CA level compared to those in placebo group from baseline to 3 months. Gain in CA level was significantly greater in AV group at all time intervals than the placebo group.CONCLUSION: Adjunctive use of AV gel LDD, in comparison to placebo gel LDD, is associated with greater reduction in PI, BI and PD as well as more gain in CA level in patients with CP.
