The first thirty minutes of the trial therapy, conducted in a live, closed-circuit supervisory setting, was analyzed in depth in Part I. Following a supervisory break, the therapist returned to the interview with the same patient and the process of the second part of the trial therapy will be analyzed to highlight the degree that the therapist is able to integrate the corrective technical measures outlined by the supervisor and the corresponding response from the unconscious of the patient. In Parts I and II, the first and second part, respectively, of a trial therapy interview conducted in a live closed-circuit supervisory setting were analyzed in depth. In this third part of the article the author will analyze the process of the third and fourth parts of the trial therapy with the same patient, conducted on the same day, to highlight the powerful impact the specific corrective technical interventions, outlined by the supervisor, have on the patient's unconscious. In Part III, the reader is presented with the late phases of the initial diagnostic interview, or trial therapy, in which the therapist explores the genetic material with the aim of having a direct view of the psychopathological dynamic forces responsible for the patient's symptoms and character disturbances. The reader will also see how the therapist brings the interview to a close and prepares the patient for the subsequent therapy work. The author then provides a brief overview of IS-TDP's outcomes. The paper concludes with a discussion which features the distinction between the goals of “restoration” and “reorganization” of a patient's unconscious, and the importance of pressure and challenge to the IS-TDP clinician's ability to successfully carry out the latter in a complex case.
