The performances depend on the structure of the materials, such as the cathode, anode, and electrolyte. However, the traditional material research pipeline requires massive preliminary surveys, high experimental investment, and lengthy time span, which makes the battery iteration in years. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) subverts the traditional research pattern. AI-driven battery research has broken through the bottleneck of traditional battery investigation. ML can decouple high-dimensional data to excavate the clues for the structure–activity relationship of batteries. Herein, the essential concepts, models, and techniques for engaging ML, as well as the mechanisms and active components of lithium-ion batteries, are summarized. The basic theoretical research for deciphering the structure–activity relationship of lithium-ion batteries is further collected to mentor electrode and electrolyte design. The ML-driven mining pipeline for handling complex data and exploring relationships for different materials is revealed. The challenges confronted in AI-driven battery designation are discussed, and the ML-driven research paradigm progress in battery research is prospected.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70015","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional electronic and photonic sources struggle to simultaneously deliver ultra-wide bandwidth, room-temperature efficiency, and chip-scale footprint, trapping system designs in an inevitable compromise. To shatter this bottleneck, integrated microwave photonics offer a compelling route, with thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) emerging as the definitive gamechanger. Harnessing its formidable Pockels effect, high nonlinearity, and sub-wavelength optical confinement, TFLN provides an unprecedented platform for high-performance millimeter-wave (mmWave) and THz generation. This article systematically reviews the physical mechanisms and engineering milestones of TFLN-based sources. We map the technological landscape across three core domains: second-order nonlinear effects (optical rectification, difference-frequency generation, optical parametric oscillation); Pockels effect (direct modulation, optoelectronic oscillators, electro-optic frequency combs); and third-order nonlinearities effect (four-wave mixing, stimulated Brillouin/Raman scattering). Beyond generation, we highlight how on-chip integration translates these physical phenomena into system-level triumphs, enabling ultra-wideband wireless links, high-precision photonic radar, and on-chip spectroscopic sensing. Finally, we critically assess the remaining hurdles—such as conversion efficiency and packaging—and chart a roadmap toward heterogeneous integration, metasurface coupling, and fully functional THz systems-on-chip.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70017","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While biosensors serve as a popular method to detect various biomarkers based on fragile biological receptors such as antibodies and enzymes, these natural recognition elements often suffer from environmental instability and high production costs. Consequently, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), named as artificial antibody, demonstrate tremendous potential in electrochemical sensing due to their superior performance including high sensitivity, strong selectivity, customizability and low-cost. However, the successful translation of these artificial receptors from laboratory settings into complex real-world clinical biofluids remains significantly limited by matrix effects and severe biofouling. Based on recent achievements and challenges in MIP electrochemical sensors, this paper systematically reviews the evolution of MIP-based electrochemical sensors, from traditional bulk polymerization to advanced Nano-MIP strategies. Also, the recent progress in functional materials and the applications of the sensors across various bio-fluids are comprehensively summarized. Furthermore, the specific requirements of different biofluid matrices and the challenges of anti-biofouling are reviewed. Finally, prospects for AI-assisted screening of MIP material and data analysis are discussed to provide theoretical insights for the development of next-generation intelligent biosensing systems. Overall, this review aims to provide guidance for the optimization of the sensitivity, selectivity and future application of MIP electrochemical sensors as smart medical platforms for POCT.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70022","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among various spintronic technologies, current-driven magnetization switching based on spin-orbit torque (SOT) exhibits distinct advantages, including fast response speed, high manipulation efficiency, and excellent stability, thereby providing a key pathway for high-performance spintronic devices. Transition metal oxides (TMOs), featuring strong coupling of multiple degrees of freedom, abundant quantum states, and good compatibility with CMOS technology, have become highly promising candidate materials in the field of spintronics. This review summarizes the recent research progress of TMOs in spintronics, explains the origin and symmetry theory of SOT, discusses magnetization switching driven by spin currents and magnon currents as well as their related transport properties, and finally outlines the future development trends of TMO systems. The challenge stems from the limited scales of conventional simulations and the intrinsic structural disorder of nucleation. To bridge the scale gap, we developed a machine learning potential (ML potential) trained on an extensive density functional theory dataset, enabling large-scale molecular dynamics simulations that capture the complete crystallization pathway with quantum-level fidelity. By employing a unified short- and medium-range structural framework, we simplified the complexity and disorder inherent to nucleation, allowing us to unravel the intricate atomic environment, pinpoint essential structural motifs, and track their dynamic evolution. Through this approach, our simulations reveal an unconventional nucleation process: the initial formation of Ge-rich clusters with defective octahedral coordination, followed by their Te-mediated assembly into the final rock-salt structure. This sequential mechanism presents a different scenario from classical nucleation theory's expectation of alternating Ge/Te incorporation, wherein the Te sublattice preferentially forms a face-centered-cubic structure ahead of Ge ordering. The observed two-stage nucleation process adds a valuable perspective on the structural ordering kinetics in PCMs, helping to explain their fast crystallization characteristics at the atomic level.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70021","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, their intrinsic toxicity, primarily arising from soluble Pb<sup>2+</sup> ions, poses significant environmental and regulatory barriers to large-scale commercialization. Tin-based perovskites have emerged as the most promising lead-free alternatives, retaining favorable charge transport properties and tunable bandgaps while substantially reducing ecotoxicological and human health risks. Nevertheless, the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of tin-based perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs) remains capped at ∼20%, reflecting a pronounced performance gap relative to state-of-the-art lead-based counterparts. In this review, we systematically summarize the fundamental structural motifs and photophysical behavior of tin-based perovskites to identify the root causes limiting film quality, particularly Sn<sup>2+</sup> oxidation under ambient conditions and uncontrolled crystallization kinetics during film formation. We then outline recent device-level advances, including rational ligand engineering, interfacial dipole modulation, and compositional grading that have enabled measurable EQE improvements. Moreover, we evaluate the practical viability of tin-based emitters in next-generation optoelectronic applications, with an emphasis on narrowband pure-red displays and near-infrared optical communication. Finally, we highlight three persistent mechanistic challenges: (i) severe nonradiative recombination and imbalanced charge injection stemming from facile Sn<sup>2+</sup> oxidation and inherent <i>p</i>-type self-doping; (ii) pronounced efficiency roll-off at elevated current densities driven by Auger recombination and localized Joule heating; and (iii) intrinsic operational instability under continuous optoelectronic and thermal stress. We conclude by proposing a unified research framework that integrates rational materials design, machine learning-guided high-throughput screening, and scalable fabrication paradigms to guide the development of tin-based PeLEDs. This roadmap aims to achieve efficiencies and operational robustness comparable to lead-based devices, thereby enabling truly sustainable high-performance optoelectronics.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70014","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In multielement chalcogenides grown far from equilibrium, the deposited phase can deviate substantially from the nominal source material, providing an alternative route for polarity selection beyond conventional doping and defect control. Here, we show that carrier polarity in thermally evaporated Bi–Te thin films is governed by nonequilibrium compositional fractionation along the evaporation pathway. At the initial stage of deposition, preferential Te incorporation produces an amorphous, strongly Te-rich phase with robust p-type transport and high hole concentration. With continued growth, the deposited phase progressively evolves toward Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub>-rich crystalline Bi–Te films, accompanied by the recovery of conventional n-type behavior. This polarity crossover does not originate from an intrinsic amorphous-to-crystalline inversion of Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> but from a growth-induced transition in the dominant conducting phase. These results identify nonequilibrium compositional fractionation as a mechanism for controlling carrier polarity in Bi–Te chalcogenides and demonstrate a route to generate distinct p- and n-type transport regimes within a single material system without external doping.</p>","PeriodicalId":100671,"journal":{"name":"InfoScience","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/inc2.70020","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148950534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventional volatile memristors suffer from abrupt switching, which hinders spatiotemporal consistency. In this study, we developed a two-terminal artificial neuron with intrinsic leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) dynamics, eliminating the need for bulky capacitors or additional reset circuits and enabling exceptional compactness. Crucially, the device exhibited superior spatiotemporal uniformity across arrays compared to typical volatile memristors—which show abrupt transitions—achieved through gradual volatile switching. Combined theoretical and experimental analyses revealed that this behavior resulted from the controlled formation and self-rupture of pure oxygen vacancy–based conductive filaments, which were modulated by electric field and Joule heating. Neuronal dynamics, including the firing threshold and relaxation, were tuned by adjusting the input amplitude and frequency. To validate functionality, a two-layer spiking neural network leveraging these neurons was developed, which achieved 97.4% accuracy on MNIST classification, rivaling ideal LIF models even under noisy conditions. This highlights the remarkable noise tolerance of the device, which is crucial for real-world applications. A multidirectional synergistic modification that combines particle composition, interface, morphology, and multiscale particle systems will be more conducive to the improvement of the comprehensive performance of MRFs. In this work, we develop a transformative flaky FeSiCr MRF, which exhibits high magnetic permeability, low remanence, and excellent wear resistance, via solvent-assisted ball-milling.
