Helicobacter pylori Infection and Gastric Adenocarcinoma. 幽门螺杆菌感染与胃腺癌
Pelayo Correa, M Blanca Piazuelo
{"title":"Helicobacter pylori Infection and Gastric Adenocarcinoma.","authors":"Pelayo Correa, M Blanca Piazuelo","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

Gastric adenocarcinoma is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Infection with Helicobacter pylori is the strongest recognized risk factor for gastric adenocarcinoma. This bacterial species colonizes the stomach of more than half of the world's population; however, only a very small proportion of infected subjects develop adenocarcinoma. H. pylori causes a chronic gastritis that may last decades, and a multistep precancerous process is recognized for the most frequent histologic type of gastric adenocarcinoma: the intestinal type. The severity and long-term outcome of this infection is modulated by an increasing list of bacterial, host, and environmental factors, which interplay in a complex manner. Identification of individuals at high risk for gastric cancer that may enter a surveillance program and intervention during the precancerous process is the most suitable strategy for decreasing mortality due to this malignancy.
","PeriodicalId":89515,"journal":{"name":"US gastroenterology & hepatology review","volume":"7 1","pages":"59-64"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3158605/pdf/nihms302034.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"29945833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drug-induced Liver Injury. 药物性肝损伤。
Stefan David, James P Hamilton
{"title":"Drug-induced Liver Injury.","authors":"Stefan David, James P Hamilton","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is common and nearly all classes of medications can cause liver disease. Most cases of DILI are benign, and improve after drug withdrawal. It is important to recognize and remove the offending agent as quickly as possible to prevent the progression to chronic liver disease and/or acute liver failure. There are no definite risk factors for DILI, but pre-existing liver disease and genetic susceptibility may predispose certain individuals. Although most patients have clinical symptoms that are identical to other liver diseases, some patients may present with symptoms of systemic hypersensitivity. Treatment of drug and herbal-induced liver injury consists of rapid drug discontinuation and supportive care targeted to alleviate unwanted symptoms.
","PeriodicalId":89515,"journal":{"name":"US gastroenterology & hepatology review","volume":"6 ","pages":"73-80"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3160634/pdf/nihms310802.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"30105625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
