They can be of arterial or venous origin. In this article, we will present a clinical case of a 30-year-old patient with a chronic injury to the right medial malleolus. In his history, we can note a gunshot wound to the right leg. Ultrasonography and CT angiography helped in the diagnosis of traumatic arteriovenous fistula. The patient underwent a fistula embolization which allowed the wound to heal. The clinical presentation, additional examinations and the latest treatment recommendations will be discussed in this article.</p>","PeriodicalId":68469,"journal":{"name":"临床诊断学期刊(英文)","volume":"11 2","pages":"47-51"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8555910/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"39579472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We investigated whether apelin-36 contained alternative bioactive peptides associated with normal physiology or disease. Amino acid sequence analysis of apelin-36 identified an amidation motif consistent with the formation of a secondary bioactive peptide (SCNH2). SCNH2 is proven to be mitogenic and chemotactic in normal/malignant cells and augments angiogenesis via a PTX-resistant/CT-X-sensitive G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). Notably, SCNH2 is substantially more potent and sensitive than apelin-13 and vascular endothelial growth factor-A. Endogenous SCNH2 is highly expressed in human tumors and placenta and in mouse embryonic tissues. Our findings demonstrate that SCNH2 is a new apelinergic member with critical pluripotent roles in angiogenesis related diseases and embryogenesis via a non-APJ GPCR.</p>","PeriodicalId":68469,"journal":{"name":"临床诊断学期刊(英文)","volume":"3 2","pages":"37-51"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3743796/pdf/nihms3152.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"31667663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
