Paying attention to the function of spleen-stomach and treating diseases from spleen stomach theory have been advocated and respected by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. In modern medicine, spleen and stomach in traditional Chinese medicine mainly correspond to the digestive function of gastrointestinal tract, which is the source of human body’s activities to obtain nutrition, eliminate waste and generate energy. Moreover, it is also the main dwelling place of microorganisms in human body, which is closely related to human immune function.
