In this study, a total of 2520 differentiallynexpressed genes (DEGs) were identified by RNA-seq analysis of thensilkworm midgut after BmCPV1 infection and Gene Ontology (GO) functionalnannotation showed that the DEGs predominantly functioned in bindingn(molecular function), cell (cellular component), and cellular processesn(biological process). Additionally, the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genesnand Genomes (KEGG) functional annotation revealed that the DEGs werenmainly distributed in global and overview metabolism maps, translation,nand signal transduction. Among the identified DEGs, BmPGRP-S5 belongs to the peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) family.nPrevious studies have revealed that PGRPs were involved in the interactionsnbetween silkworm and BmCPV1. Here, we explored the effect of BmPGRP-S5non BmCPV1 replication and demonstrated that BmPGRP-S5 promotes thenproliferation of BmCPV1 in BmN cells through overexpression or knockdownnexperiments. Knocking down of BmPGRP-S5 in silkwormnlarvae similarly promoted the proliferation of BmCPV1. Through experimentalnvalidation, we therefore determined that BmPGRP-S5 acts as a proviralnhost factor for BmCPV1 infection. This study clarifies the proliferationnmechanism of BmCPV1 and provides new insights into the functionalnrole of BmPGRP-S5.","PeriodicalId":523711,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1753-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147920624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
