To achieve desiredntherapeutic efficiency, the survival of the transplanted MSCs in thenhigh oxidative stress environment needs to be ensured. Herein, wenproposed the use of a ROS-scavenging nanozyme to protect transplantednMSCs from oxidative stress-mediated apoptosis and thereby improventhe therapeutic effect. Prussian blue (PB) nanoparticles as a biocompatiblenROS-scavenging nanozyme were incorporated into the MSCs without affectingnthe stemness and differentiation potential of MSCs. The nanozyme impregnationnsignificantly improved the survival of MSCs in a high oxidative stressncondition as well as augmented their paracrine effect and anti-inflammatorynproperties, resulting in a profound therapeutic effect in vivo innthe liver ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury animal model. Our resultsnindicated that the nanozyme incorporation into MSCs is a simple butnefficient way to improve the therapeutic potential of MSC-based cellntherapy.","PeriodicalId":523702,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147920478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
