Under optimum reaction conditions, uniformnPBMs with a particle size of 1.37 μm were obtained, which exhibitna maximum Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface arean(556.25 m<sup>2</sup>/g) and pore volume (0.48 cm<sup>3</sup>/g).nThis novel fabrication method for PBMs has significant merits includingna simple process free of additives and high efficiency. Furthermore,nPBMs loaded with Pd nanoparticles (PBMs@Pd) were easily synthesizednvia <i>in situ</i> chemical reduction and used as a catalyticnmicroreactor due to their abundant pore structure. As an efficientnheterogeneous catalyst for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) bynsodium borohydride (NaBH<sub>4</sub>), the as-prepared PBMs@Pd exhibitednexcellent catalytic activity with a high turnover frequency valuen(967.92 h<sup>–1</sup>) and excellent recyclability. This facilenstrategy opens up new horizons for the synthesis of porous microspheresnwith a well-controlled morphology and tunable pore structure, whichnhave great application prospects in the fields of catalysis, adsorption,nand energy storage.","PeriodicalId":523606,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147918917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
