Sixteen compounds including nine new amide alkaloids werenisolated from the roots of P. longum. The structures of these compounds were determined by spectroscopicndata. All compounds showed better anti-inflammatory activities (IC<sub>50</sub> = 1.90 ± 0.68–40.22 ± 0.45 μM) comparednto indomethacin (IC<sub>50</sub> = 52.88 ± 3.56 μM). Amongnthe isolated compounds, five dimeric amide alkaloids exhibited synergisticneffects with three chemotherapeutic drugs (paclitaxel, adriamycin,nor vincristine) against cervical cancer cells. Moreover, these dimericnamide alkaloids also enhanced the efficacy of paclitaxel in paclitaxel-resistantncervical cancer cells. The combination treatment of one of these dimericnamide alkaloids and paclitaxel promoted cancer cell apoptosis, whichnis related to the Src/ERK/STAT3 signaling pathway.","PeriodicalId":522733,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147902358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
