The results show that pure aqueousnTC can be completely photodecomposed by TiO<sub>2</sub>, althoughnthe removal rate of pure Cu ions through photocatalysis without thenaddition of a scavenger can be neglected. For simultaneously photodegradingnTC–Cu(II) hybrid wastewater, the TC degradation rate is accelerated,nwhereas the Cu(II) removal rate remains at 20% through adsorption.nTC cannot promote the photoreduction of Cu(II) as a sacrificial agent,nand its intermediate products form a stable complex with Cu(II), hinderingnfurther reduction. The addition of formic acid effectively releasesnCu ions from the complex as a pH regulator and enhances the photocatalysisnprocess as a hole scavenger. Through the addition of formic acid afterncomplete TC photooxidation, the final chemical oxygen demand (COD)nand Cu concentration were only 8 and 0.4 mg/L, respectively. Thisnstudy provides a simple and promising method for simultaneously treatingnTC–Cu(II) hybrid wastewater using formic-acid-assisted TiO<sub>2</sub> photocatalysis.","PeriodicalId":522698,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147901914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
