A poly(amic acid) (PAA) ammonium salt/graphenendispersion was first synthesized by mixing together PAA, H<sub>2</sub>O, triethylamine (TEA), and graphene and then was successively subjectednto one-way freezing, freeze-drying, and thermal imidization. The one-wayngrowth of ice crystals endowed the composite aerogels with highlynarranged tubular pores. The PI/graphene composite aerogels possessednanisotropic conductivity, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding,nheat transfer, and compression performance. Moreover, the compositenaerogels with low density (0.076 g·cm<sup>–3</sup>) exhibitednhigh EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of 26.1–28.8 dB, andnits specific EMI SE value achieved 1373–1518 dB·cm<sup>2</sup>·g<sup>–1</sup> when the graphene content wasn13 wt %. The main electromagnetic interference shielding mechanismnof these composite aerogels was microwave absorption. The compositenaerogels had excellent thermal stability, and their 5% weight lossntemperature was higher than 546 °C in nitrogen. This researchnprovided an easy and environmentally friendly approach to preparenlightweight and anisotropic PI-based composite aerogels.","PeriodicalId":522587,"journal":{"name":"Figshare","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147899746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
