It is an important ecosystem in Indonesia, known for its rich biodiversity and ability to absorb and store carbon. The objective of this study was to evaluate the biodiversity and carbon stocks of the area, with the purpose of obtaining extensive data to guide conservation policies and sustainable management practices. The study utilized a combination of methods, including field surveys to collect data on plant and animal species using transects and plots, as well as estimating carbon storage by assessing biomass and utilizing mathematical models. The findings indicated a moderate level of diversity in the flora, as measured by the Shannon-Wiener indices. The indices ranged from 1.52 for trees to 2.12 for seedlings. Additionally, the study discovered some species of significant conservation value, such as the critically endangered Shorea belangeran and Shorea sp. A total of 22 bird species, 6 animal species (including the endangered long-tailed macaque), 9 herpetofauna species (highlighting the endemic Kalimantan Skink), and 12 arthropod species were recorded in the faunal surveys. The examination of carbon stock estimated a total of 322.54 tons per hectare across all species of plants, with Shorea sp. being the primary contributor. The carbon stocks were economically valued at a total of 69,944,794.92 in terms of conversion values. The results highlight the importance of ADARO Indonesia's CSR project in terms of its impact on the environment and its potential for economic benefits. The analysis determines that the region's abundant variety of living organisms and significant ability to capture and store carbon justify the need for specific conservation initiatives and sustainable methods of overseeing the area. Moreover, the assessment of the monetary value of carbon stocks presents a strong case for conserving the region. This implies that ADARO Indonesia might improve its environmental responsibility by engaging in carbon markets or Payment for Ecosystem Services programs.","PeriodicalId":515359,"journal":{"name":"River Studies","volume":"8 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141921747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study examines the program's contributions through the use of result mapping, financial assessments, and stakeholder analysis. An in-depth analysis is conducted on financial trends, sources of revenue, and the Social Return on Investment (SROI). The program's outreach is assessed by identifying stakeholder groups and evaluating their respective impacts. The Social Return on Investment (SROI) consistently rises from 1.06 to 4.01, indicating significant returns generated by the programme. Eighteen stakeholders, comprising local communities, companies, and governmental organisations, encounter diverse effects. The Padang Panjang Village Community is the main recipient, with a significant impact of 30.29%. A variety of revenue streams, such as ticket sales and partnerships, support the park's economic viability. The achieved Social Return on Investment (SROI), which is 4.01 and exceeds the intended objective, demonstrates the effectiveness.The Menanti Laburan Tourism Park demonstrates both financial viability and operates as an educational centre. The triple-loop learning paradigm emphasises its dedication to flexibility and long-term viability. During comprehensive five-year research, a progressive decrease in air quality was seen, shown by a rise in the yearly average PM2.5 concentration from 13.4 µg/m³ to 18.7 µg/m³. This work utilizes hydrological modeling to reveal a strong negative association between the rise in PM2.5 concentration and the decline in river flow. The decline observed can be attributed to variations in solar radiation and surface temperature, which are clearly impacted by pollution. Ecological investigations showed that the decrease in river flow led to severe ecological impacts, including higher water temperature and alterations in nitrogen levels. This study emphasizes the crucial need to implement thorough environmental management strategies to successfully reduce the detrimental effects of air pollution on river ecosystems. This study enhances our comprehension of the intricate connection between air pollution and river dynamics, on both a regional scale and within the wider context of the southern hemisphere. It highlights the worldwide significance of safeguarding clean air and water resources.","PeriodicalId":515359,"journal":{"name":"River Studies","volume":"18 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140420334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing a multi-faceted technique that incorporates scoring system and sentiment analysis, the research examined the extent of policy comprehensiveness, previous initiatives, sentiments, and track records of the subjects under investigation. The findings highlight the strong dedication exhibited by Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan, while suggesting that Prabowo Subianto's commitment may benefit from additional elucidation and policy refinement. The results, in line with previous studies, provide significant insights for voters and stakeholders in making well-informed choices for the upcoming election. Recognizing the inherent constraints of this study, the present research underscores the imperative of further exploration pertaining to the candidates' stances on these crucial matters, in order to guarantee well-informed voting decisions.","PeriodicalId":515359,"journal":{"name":"River Studies","volume":"7 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140423071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
