This drives the need for skilled workers in the tourism sector, including good English language skills. This research aims to analyze the English language learning needs of students majoring in Travel Bureaus in Bali, Indonesia. This research uses quantitative and qualitative methods. Data was collected through a survey of 100 students majoring in Travel Bureau and in-depth interviews with 10 lecturers and 5 tourism industry practitioners. The research results show that students majoring in Travel Bureau have a high need to improve their English language skills, especially in the aspects of speaking, listening, and reading. This need is driven by the demands of work in the tourism industry, where English is widely used to communicate with foreign tourists. This research provides an overview of the English language learning needs for students majoring in Travel Bureaus in Bali, Indonesia. The findings of this research can be used to develop English language learning programs that are more effective and relevant to the needs of the tourism industry.","PeriodicalId":511530,"journal":{"name":"Enigma in Education","volume":"18 29","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141019986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A quasi-experimental design with two groups (experimental and control) was used. The sample consisted of 60 fifth grade elementary school students who were chosen randomly. The experimental group (n=30) took part in collaborative learning with group investigation, while the control group (n=30) took part in traditional learning. The results show that there is a significant difference in mathematics learning outcomes between the two groups (t = 2.45; p = 0.017). The experimental group showed higher learning outcomes (M = 82.50; SD = 7.12) compared to the control group (M = 75.83; SD = 6.47). This research shows that collaborative learning with group investigations is effective in improving elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research concludes that collaborative learning with group investigation is an effective learning strategy for improving elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes.","PeriodicalId":511530,"journal":{"name":"Enigma in Education","volume":"32 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140450299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One solution to improve physics learning outcomes is to use an effective learning model, such as the cooperative learning model. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest design with control group. The research sample was 60 class X students who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group who studied with the cooperative learning model and the control group who studied with the conventional learning model. The research instrument used was a physics learning outcomes test. The research results showed that there were significant differences between student learning outcomes in the experimental group and the control group. The learning outcomes of students in the experimental group who studied with the cooperative learning model were higher than the learning outcomes of students in the control group who studied with the conventional learning model. The cooperative learning model is effective in improving the physics learning outcomes of vocational school students in Jambi.","PeriodicalId":511530,"journal":{"name":"Enigma in Education","volume":"29 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140450562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to assess the academic achievements in mathematics, specifically in the area of basic flat shapes, among first-grade students at SDN Kebagusan 04 Pagi, located in South Jakarta. The study will utilize the cooperative learning method known as group investigation. The study will utilize the cooperative learning method known as group investigation, which is a specific type of cooperative learning model. This study employs a cyclical framework based on the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which comprises four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research findings indicated a rise in students' proficiency in mathematics. The mean scores of the students are as follows: pre-cycle 63.00, cycle I 66.00, and cycle II 82.00. Additionally, there was a rise in the proportion of students who attained the minimum level of completeness. Specifically, in the pre-cycle, 33.33% of students achieved this level, while in cycle I, the percentage increased to 40.00%, and in cycle II, it further rose to 80.00%. In conclusion, the implementation of the group investigation cooperative learning approach has the potential to enhance students' academic achievements and comprehension of mathematical concepts.","PeriodicalId":511530,"journal":{"name":"Enigma in Education","volume":"30 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139384980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
