The sample for HEXACO-100 consisted of N = 716, and the sample for HEXACO-60 of N = 319. Six respondents were recruited for cognitive interviews. Modification indices, factor loadings, and cognitive interviews were used to identify items in need of revision, identifying a total of 56 items. Examples of the types of information gained using a holistic approach during item identification are presented. While widely used in psychometric research, the combination of confirmatory factor analysis with cognitive interviews and probing is underutilized in research on personality assessment. A holistic approach toward psychometric evaluation provides valuable information and is recommended as an integral part of the validation process of personality instruments.","PeriodicalId":510689,"journal":{"name":"Psychological Test Adaptation and Development","volume":"59 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140273116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, task-switching is a commonly required ability in a variety of jobs (e.g., programmers). The present study aims to develop a rapid task-switching assessment for the Portuguese-speaking population that integrates verbal content with nonverbal components. One hundred and sixty-four participants answered the task-switching test, and 78 of those were evaluated in terms of their overall job performance in 2020, 2021, and 2022 by their managers. Fifteen items were kept in the final version of the tool, across three tasks. Statistical analyses showed there was positive evidence for the acceptable psychometric properties of the assessment tool and how the task-switching performance of the test correlated to job performance.","PeriodicalId":510689,"journal":{"name":"Psychological Test Adaptation and Development","volume":"8 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140268899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
