The two are crucial in ensuring that big data is effectively applied for research and personalised care, compromising the sensitivity of healthcare data and medical information. Consequently, as the amount of data in the healthcare sector grows exponentially, securing sensitive data becomes increasingly crucial while effectively utilising big data analytics. The systematic review explores the issues and challenges associated with big data security and privacy in healthcare. Through reference to resource-based view theory, this paper seeks to examine the present state of research in this area, identify gaps in the existing literature, and propose strategies for future research. The search strategy looked at the data between 2013 and 2022 and yielded 93 studies from four databases: Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect and IEEE Xplore. From these studies, 18 papers are reviewed. The findings reveal that while significant progress has been made in securing healthcare data, numerous challenges still need to be considered. Overall, this review highlights the importance of continued research to ascertain that sensitive healthcare data is kept secure while allowing for the enhanced application of big data analytics. It contributes to the security and privacy problems associated with using big data in healthcare, measures for addressing these challenges, the healthcare value of big data, and foci for future research.","PeriodicalId":510157,"journal":{"name":"Information Development","volume":"73 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140668365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it remains uncertain whether the three dimensions of agricultural information systems—system quality, information quality, and service quality—can contribute to farmers’ perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, thus influencing their intention to adopt these systems. We have developed a research framework that combines the Technology Acceptance Model and the Delone and McLean IS Success Model to elucidate the factors shaping farmers’ adoption of agricultural information systems in Vietnam. Field survey data were collected from a sample of 570 farmers in four midlands and mountainous provinces of northern Vietnam. Structural equation modelling was employed for the analysis. The results indicate that the three aspects of agricultural information systems directly enhance farmers’ adoption intentions, or they have a positive correlation with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, indirectly promoting such adoption intentions. The findings of this study underscore the importance for system developers and policymakers to prioritize the creation of reliable and user-friendly agricultural information systems that can address emerging issues during farmers’ use, thereby supporting their adoption.","PeriodicalId":510157,"journal":{"name":"Information Development","volume":"139 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140668768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exploring the potential of mobile applications to aid in this challenge, the research focuses on 514 diabetic patients in Cape Town, applying the Theory of Planned Behaviour. Utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling, the study identifies age-specific variations in factors influencing mobile app use. While overall predictability of intention to use mobile health apps for exercise is moderate (R2 = 11.6%), specific relationships differ across age groups. Notably, relationships involving Social Norm, Intention, and Perceived Behavioural Control show insignificance in certain age brackets. Although the study retains significance for the oldest age group at a 95% confidence interval, compared to the original 99%, the overall model exhibits low predictive power. The findings underscore the necessity for designers to tailor mobile applications to diverse age requirements. This research contributes to theoretical understanding by highlighting age-related nuances in the Theory of Planned Behaviour, offering practical insights for intervention design and public health policies to enhance diabetes management among various age groups in South Africa.","PeriodicalId":510157,"journal":{"name":"Information Development","volume":"22 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139443715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Internet of Things (IoT) as a fifth generation technology plays a significant role in digitalization and creation of a smart city. Tabriz metropolis is one of the five selected pilot cities for implementing smart city projects in Iran. On the other hand, municipalities have the biggest contribution in transforming a city into a smart city by utilizing the new technologies in urban management, in the other words digitalization. Hence, this study examined the successful IoT adoption in Tabriz Metropolitan municipality in the developing country of Iran by combining the information systems’ success model and TOE framework. Aimed at collecting data on the IoT adoption process, the electronic questionnaire link was distributed among ICT experts and managers of the organization, and 74 valid answers were received. The collected data were analyzed using the regression method. The obtained results proved the positive and direct impact of system quality, ICT infrastructure, enterprise financial and human resources, and external support. In addition, the results showed that information quality and service quality factors did not affect the IoT adoption process significantly. This research can help the senior managers of Tabriz metropolitan municipality in policymaking and launching this technology successfully by identifying the influential factors in IoT adoption.","PeriodicalId":510157,"journal":{"name":"Information Development","volume":"26 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139445987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
