Methodology: This systematic review was conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. A search was conducted using the online Cochrane Library, EMBASE, CINAHL, Medline and PubMed databases, using the following terms: Rotator Cuff Injuries OR Rotator Cuff AND Orthopedic Procedures. Results: 688 patients were included, of whom 479 underwent surgical treatment and 209 non-operative treatment. The studies analyzed in this systematic review showed better results for the VAS (Visual analog scale), the Constant Murley Score and for limb range of motion in patients who underwent surgical treatment. Conclusion: Surgical treatment for rotator cuff injuries was associated with a better prognosis than physiotherapeutic treatment.","PeriodicalId":510104,"journal":{"name":"The American Journal of Medical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Research","volume":"45 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140796782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
