I evaluate prior literature and organise it around four paradoxes: organising, belonging, learning and performing. The L&D organisational role is fraught with paradox due to tensions around organising, belonging, learning and performance. I evaluate the different ways in which L&D practitioners respond to these tensions, I highlight future research avenues and suggest practice implications for L&D practitioners.","PeriodicalId":505919,"journal":{"name":"The Irish Journal of Management","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140223836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
