The objective was to detect sequences homologous to the resistance genes (R1, R2, R3a, R8, Sto-448, Rpi-blb1, Rpi-blb2, and Rpi-ber1) to P. infestans in 23 accessions of 14 wild potato species (Solanum spp.) with different resistance levels through the amplification of molecular markers. Eight primers sets were used to amplify the molecular markers. No amplifications of resistance markers were observed in highly susceptible plants in the field (accession 631200 of S. chacoense, accession 653801 of S. berthaultii and accession 631201 of S. juzepzuckii), whereas in plants immune to the field, such as S. demissum (653770), amplification of six molecular markers was observed. The R3a marker did not amplify for any accession. Therefore, no apparent association between the number of markers amplified and the resistance category was found by Chi-square test. These results highlight the complexity of genetic resistance in the studied potato species. The objective of this study was to evaluate the pollen viability, stigmatic receptivity and agronomic behavior of three hybrids of Portulaca umbraticola obtained in 2021, Tekila Sunset, Coral Lipstick and Star Blush in comparison to commercial cultivars pink, yellow and orange from Vigrow Seeds®. Measurements were taken in five quantitative and five qualitative variables for the agronomic evaluation. Pollen viability and stigmatic receptivity were evaluated using 1% acetic carmine staining and with hydrogen peroxide, respectively. Significant differences were obtained in the quantitative variables (p≤0,05), with the commercial cultivars being the largest. In terms of pollen viability, the cultivars with the lowest and highest amount of viable pollen were Coral Lipstick and Tekila Sunset with 17,4% and 91.6%, respectively. There were significant differences (p≤0,05) in terms of cultivars, timing and cultivar × timing interaction for stigmatic receptivity, which was greater in the range of 11:00-3:00 p. m. for most cultivars. Agronomically adapted hybrids with novel coloring patterns were obtained for the ornamental market. Este nuevo registro amplía el área de distribución de la especie, marcando su límite más boreal conocido hasta la fecha, ya que sólo se consideraba como endémica para el nordeste de la Argentina. Se presenta una breve descripción morfológica de la especie, un mapa de distribución, y una lámina de fotos de especímenes de herbario. Se desarrolló trabajo de campo en las ciudades de Abra Pampa, Humahuaca, y San Salvador de Jujuy, puntualmente en el ámbito familiar, en mercados y ferias. Para cumplir con el objetivo se empleó metodología etnobotánica cualitativa, como observación participante y entrevistas abiertas, semiestructuradas; orientadas a indagar el conocimiento local sobre la/s planta/s reconocida/s localmente como “tola”, el uso actual, los usuarios del recurso, sitios de acceso y formas de obtención, partes utilizadas y épocas de recolección. De manera complementaria, se indagó en artículos etnobotánicos y de disciplinas afines. Se obtuvo también material vegetal acondicionado para determinar su identidad taxonómica. Se estableció que este complejo está integrado por 14 especies originarias de las provincias fitogeográficas Puna, Altoandina y Prepuna; conocidas localmente como “tola” o variantes de este nombre, las cuales comparten el nombre en función de los atributos de su morfología, la aromaticidad y usos diversos. Se propone la presencia de un subcomplejo bajo el nombre local de “koa”-“koba”. Los objetivos fueron definir y validar los descriptores morfológicos de la plántula y caracterizar el germoplasma de “tara” de la región Cajamarca (58 entradas de nueve provincias) integrando descriptores de fruto, semilla y plántula. Se identificaron siete descriptores de plántula altamente discriminantes, siendo los del cotiledón los más importantes. Esta especie se reconoce por la presencia de: espinas del mericarpo largas y retrorso-barbadas, margen del cáliz de color rojo purpúreo, margen de las hojas irregularmente dentado y de color rojo purpúreo, (9-)10-11 mericarpos y tallos verrucosos. Se compara con otras especies de la secc. Cordifoliae presentes en el país. Adicionalmente se esclarece la presencia de Melochia melissifolia Benth. en la flora de Colombia y se amplía la distribución en el país de la especie Melochia siphonandra (Turcz.) Dorr a las regiones biogeográficas de la Amazonia, Orinoquia y Chocó Biogeográfico. The origin of the cultivated peanut, 2n = 4x = 40, has been the subject of many discussions, but the primitive parents have been agreed on by most as A. duranensis being the A genome donor and A. ipaënsis the B donor; both diploids with 2n = 20. Whether the chromosome doubling of this hybrid occurred in a natural setting or in the garden of a hunter-gatherer-cultivator is also a subject of debate, but most likely it occurred innature. Molecular analyses have established that A. duranensis was the female of the cross.Until recently no one had been successful in making and establishing plants of the cross in that direction. However, the reciprocal cross is easily accomplished and has been reported several times. La investigación se llevó a cabo entre los años 2017 y 2018. Mediante observaciones y entrevistas a diferentes actores sociales vinculados a la práctica de la medicina popular, se logró recabar información para su posterior sistematización y análisis. En Artigas fueron identificadas 142 plantas pertenecientes a 65 familias botánicas, siendo las familias Asteraceae, Myrtaceae, Fabaceae, Apiaceae y Lamiaceae las más recurrentes.De estas especies, 131 son utilizadas como medicinales. Las restantes plantas poseen otros usos etnobotánicos como ser alimentos, condimento, maderable, pintura corporal y usos indígenas. Las plantas medicinales son utilizadas principalmente para tratar afecciones del sistema digestivo (23%), sistema sensorial (13%), sistema genitourinario (12%) y sistema respiratorio (11%). La principal forma de consumo es a través de la infusión (46%) y la parte utilizada principalmente es la hoja (48%).
