Like using a stock greeting card instead of a handwritten note, the digital age increasingly relies on packaged goods instead of from-scratch creativity. This is not necessarily bad, but what can be troublesome is when the technique is applied to areas that need to be fully understood. Much like an experience of searching for that perfect card only to find none in stock that suit, there are parts of human communication that are missing from existing efforts to automate dialog.
