HR departments are required to take a leading role through the adoption of green HRM (GHRM) practices. This study explored HR professionals’ experiences with the implementation of GHRM practices and the related challenges at a South African HDHEI. A qualitative approach was adopted. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 19 HR professionals. Thematic analysis was employed to analyse data. The findings revealed five themes linked to the GHRM practices: online advertisement and invitation of application, green recruitment and selection, green training and development, green performance management and green compensation and reward, with financial constraints, lack of awareness, complexity and lack of green capital as related challenges. The study concluded that an institutional green vision, mission statements and values should be developed and aligned with GHRM to promote environmental sustainability at HDHEIs.","PeriodicalId":504993,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Research in Business and Management","volume":"8 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141701631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has had a significant impact on their thinking and behavior, especially in the realm of beauty. Generation Z, born in the digital era, possesses distinct characteristics that set them apart from other generations. Notably, they have a strong preference for purchasing beauty items, with a significant portion of their income allocated to this expenditure. The aim of this study is to determine the function of trust as a mediator in the correlation between purchase intention and cosmetic products among persons who are part of Generation Z. The survey includes individuals from Generation Z in Batam City who possess a comprehensive knowledge of beauty products. The results of this study suggest that trust and social influence are significant factors in determining purchase intention; however, price does not have any impact on purchase intention. Furthermore, the inclination to make a purchase remains unaffected by the accuracy or reliability of the information. However, when we consider trust as a mediating factor, the quality of information directly influences the willingness to engage in a transaction. Furthermore, social influence directly influences the propensity to purchase, with trust playing a more substantial role. Trust does not act as an intermediary between an individual's perceived value and their intention to make a purchase.","PeriodicalId":504993,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Research in Business and Management","volume":"47 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141716440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the benefits of GAS are not as widely researched in developing countries like Nigeria. This study was designed to investigate the efficiency of adopting GAS in internal auditing in Nigeria. The study employed the use of questions in questionnaires which were used to gather information from 120 internal auditors at 12 different firms within Nigeria. The Data was analyzed using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA). It was found that factors such as resource constraints, communication and collaboration, and training of internal auditors affected the adoption of GAS, thereby limiting its efficiency in Nigeria. The study also found that GAS adoption can improve and increase the efficiency of internal auditors in Nigeria. The study recommended the need to enhance communication and collaboration among GAS users as well as other key stakeholders in Nigeria.","PeriodicalId":504993,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Research in Business and Management","volume":"118 41","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140380089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It uses a generative approach to explore B2B customer expectations, focusing on co-conception and co-design. Our research aims to integrate customer-centric benefits with sustainability goals through sustainable business models and boundary work theory. In our paper, we examine a growing circular firm in the food processing machinery sector in The Netherlands. Our study is guided by the main research question, \"What actions do B2B customers expect for enhanced machinery sustainability?”. We implemented a single case study and a collaborative research framework, integrating business viewpoints to enhance theoret-ical contributions within a qualitative mixed-method approach. Our findings indicate that, reduction and repurposing of water and used water, and machines generating less food waste and processing waste are among the top expectations of the B2B customers. B2B contexts are underrepresented in customer co-creation literature, therefore our paper contributes with empirical findings to this field.","PeriodicalId":504993,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Research in Business and Management","volume":"90 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140444009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study uses bibliometric network analysis to explore important aspects of supply chain innovation. It focuses on four areas: the impact of pandemics on supply chains, the use of blockchain in supply chain management, the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in logistics services, and how short supply chains contribute to climate agriculture and food security. The analysis uncovers trends and research topics within these domains while identifying knowledge gaps. The findings emphasise the role of supply chain innovation in addressing challenges. The substantial increase in research on related supply chains after the COVID-19 outbreak underscores the need for strategies and resilience. The study recognises technology as a tool for enhancing supply chain transparency, traceability, and security. It also highlights ICTs' role in improving logistics services' efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, it identifies short supply chains to support climate agriculture practices and ensure food security. This research provides insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike, paving the way for studies and innovations in the ever-evolving field of supply chain management.","PeriodicalId":504993,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Research in Business and Management","volume":" 68","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139621361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
