Malocclusion can be caused by skeletal or dental factors. Dental malocclusion includes crowding, spacing, increased overjet, and overbite, rotations of teeth etc. Correction of some malocclusions like crowding and increased overjet needs space in the dental arch. There are various methods for creating space in the dental arch such as proximal stripping, distalization of molars, extractions, expansion of arch, and proclination of anterior teeth, and derotation of posterior teeth. In this article, we will briefly discuss about these methods.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"38 1‐2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140701932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike traditional braces with conspicuous metal brackets and wires, clear aligners are nearly invisible, providing a discreet and aesthetically pleasing option for those seeking orthodontic treatment. These custom-made, transparent trays are crafted through a process involving modern techniques and technology. This review offers a detail of the virtual setup and role of attachments, auxiliaries etc. and what all goes into achieving desired results from clear aligners.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"17 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140700416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In today’s time, dental caries found to be the most common oral disease affecting the oral cavity of the children’s. And most of the cases of dental caries when not treated in the initial time leads to inflammation of the pulp and once the pulp got inflamed, patient presents with pain, at that time only option left for the dentist is removal of the inflamed pulp from the pulp chambers and then fill the root canals with obturating materials and form the apical seal, so that there will be no communication of the tooth with the external environment. Pulp pathologies when not treated on time, might leads to problem which is known as malocclusion of the teeth. Pulp treatment in children/or in primary teeth are different as compared to the permanent teeth, and simultaneously the obturating materials for the primary teeth are also different as compared to the obturating materials for the permanent teeth. It has been found that adequate cleaning of the canal and irrigation of the canal is quite difficult in primary teeth due to the complex anatomy of the root canal morphology. There are different materials which can be used as an obturating materials for the primary teeth for example zinc oxide eugenol material, has been into the use since long time as an obturating material of choice in the primary teeth, and also zinc oxide eugenol material can not considered as an ideal root canal filling material as this obturating material shows very much little anti-microbial action and this material also shows slower rate of resorption.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"37 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140699166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Attempts to increase the predictability and success rate of implants are constantly been advocated. Syncrystallization/ Intra-oral welding is one such method that has the potential to enhance treatment outcomes. Welding the implants together not only favors undisturbed healing but also creates even distribution of forces. A case series is presented demonstrating the use of intra-oral welder to create splinting of dental implants for rehabilitation of full mouth and segmental rehabilitation. Immediate implant placement was performed in the cases followed by intra-oral welding. The welding technique has proven to be effective for immediate stabilization and loading of dental implants.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"22 S4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140702148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When it becomes necessary to improve occlusal connections, accommodate planned restorations, and harmonize dentofacial esthetics, the OVD may need to be modified. Leonardo da Vinci made numerous observations and illustrations regarding facial proportions, specifically focusing on the lower third of the face. The calculation of the vertical dimension at occlusion involves numerous measurements of the face and body. There has been a great deal of progress in the techniques and materials used to measure vertical dimension, but little is known about an accurate assessment process for edentulous patients. Parafunctional habits that could alter the vertical dimension include abrasion, loss of teeth and molar support, and generalized attrition. It is still debatable whether or not to alter the vertical dimension of occlusion. Giving clinical criteria and subjective guidelines that a lab technician and physician should adhere to while treating patients with OVD anomalies is the aim of this paper.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140699260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rugoscopy is an important specialty, which has been an area of interest for many forensic odontologists. As palatal Rugae are present in all victims and resistant to change (aging, trauma, and so forth) so they act as an ideal for identification. Palatal Rugae are also named Plicae Palatinae transverse or Rugae Palatine. The Palatal Rugae are generally transverse ridges placed in the anterior part of the palatine mucosa. Palatal Rugae are resistant to thermal effects (heat and burn) and decomposition changes because of their internal position in the head. They are used in cases where dental identification is not possible and in patients where other body parts are burnt or decomposed.: Aim of the study is to identify and analyze different patterns of palatal rugae and gender differences in Bilaspur and Nagpur populations. : This study will include a total of 80 dental casts — 40 males and 40 females.: The analysis of palatal rugae concerning the number of rugae, shape, length, and unification will be done.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"47 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140698954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent advancements in cellular and molecular biology have catalyzed the development of innovative vaccination strategies for various viral diseases. The concept of vaccination, pioneered by Edward Jenner in the late 18th century, capitalizes on the phenomenon of acquired immunity following recovery from an illness. Jenner's groundbreaking work with cowpox virus, which conferred cross-protection against smallpox, laid the foundation for modern vaccination practices.The advent of microbial genome sequencing and bioinformatics has revolutionized our ability to explore the genetic makeup of human pathogens comprehensively. This approach holds promise for identifying novel targets for antimicrobial drugs and vaccines, providing new avenues for combating infectious diseases.Given the pervasive nature of periodontal disease, there is an imperative need for effective management and prevention strategies. In the realm of immunization, the emergence of plant-based vaccines represents a novel paradigm. This review employed various search engines, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane, Medline, and Google Scholar, to identify pertinent articles in medical and dental research. The findings from these studies underscore the potential efficacy of plant-derived vaccines in addressing a diverse range of disorders, including periodontal disease.This comprehensive review sheds light on the broad spectrum of applications of plant-based vaccines in periodontal care. By harnessing the unique properties of plant-derived antigens, these vaccines hold promise for offering safe, effective, and scalable solutions for the prevention and management of periodontitis. Further research and clinical trials are warranted to explore the full potential of plant-based vaccines in revolutionizing periodontal therapeutics.","PeriodicalId":503803,"journal":{"name":"The Journal of Dental Panacea","volume":"40 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140701609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
