Psychological symptoms such as apathy, agitation, and depression tend to increase with the duration and severity of AD, seriously affecting the prognosis of patients, and also bringing a heavy burden to society and families [4]. The pathology of AD is characterized by nerve cell dysfunctions and loss of neurons in the central nervous system, ultimately leading to mental changes [5]. However, the etiology of AD is still unclear, among which the recognized mainstream theories include the cholinergic hypothesis, Amyloid β-protein (Aβ) cascade hypothesis, and inflammatory response, etc. Current AD pharmacotherapy relies on cognitive enhancement therapy, and only five AD medications have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration [5], including cholinesterase inhibitors [6] (including tacrine, donepezil, rivastigmine, and galantamine) and Nmethyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonists (memantine) [7]. These drugs have toxic side effects and only temporarily relieve AD symptoms, but can not stop or slow the progression of AD, rather than meeting the clinical need. In addition, the efficacy and safety of drugs targeting Aβ in ameliorating cognitive decline in patients have been greatly questioned. Therefore the search for effective AD treatments remains urgent and challenging. Acupuncture is a non-pharmacologic therapy of traditional Chinese medicine, dating back at least 2,000 years. Its attention and acceptance are growing worldwide, showing promising therapeutic effects and good safety. And we are pleased to see that the number and quality of randomized controlled trials of acupuncture for AD have increased in recent years to scientifically demonstrate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for AD [8].","PeriodicalId":497938,"journal":{"name":"Psychosomatic medicine research","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135400025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this investigation was to examine the correlation between personality traits and coping mechanisms in the context of gene regulation among breast cancer patients. Material and methods: This cross-sectional study was performed in 2021. A total of 200 breast cancer patients were included in this study. Data were collected using the Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ) and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised Short Scale for Chinese (EPQ-RSC). And individuals’ blood was tested for genotype. Results: The findings indicated that there existed an inverse relationship between extraversion and negative coping style while also demonstrating a significant association between extraversion and positive coping style. Neuroticism was positively correlated with negative coping style but negatively with positive coping style. The SNP of NTSR1 only moderated the relationship between neuroticism and negative coping styles in breast cancer patients. Conclusion: The present investigation delves into the correlation between personality traits and coping mechanisms at the molecular level in breast cancer patients.","PeriodicalId":497938,"journal":{"name":"Psychosomatic medicine research","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135440877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

China now has the largest overweight or obese population in the world. In addition to causing the typical physical symptoms of obesity, obesity is often accompanied by a variety of psychosomatic diseases, which are not only closely related to health behaviors, but also psychosocial plays an important role in them. Although there are differences in the symptoms exhibited by the major systems, most of the modern research has been interpreted from the inflammatory and immune responses, which provides a direction to find the mechanism of obesity physical and mental diseases. After researching and explaining the mechanism, we give the countermeasures of Chinese medicine in treating obesity from both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments and explore the mechanism, hoping to build a bridge between Chinese medicine treatment and the mechanism of the above mentioned physical and mental diseases, and to provide scientific evidence for the efficacy of Chinese medicine.","PeriodicalId":497938,"journal":{"name":"Psychosomatic medicine research","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135551088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Memories of the trauma often haunt the affected person in everyday life. Anyone who has to survive one or more such extreme situations can suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, even witnesses of a traumatic event [1]. If the disorder is not treated, it can become chronic and massively limit the quality of life. With timely and correct therapy, the chances of recovery are good. In the experience and psychological processing of those affected, there is a difference whether this catastrophe was a natural disaster or a “man made disaster” in a war or post-war area. It becomes very difficult when the two come together, as for example in Banda Aceh in 2004. The associated individual experience of fear of death, panic, helplessness, loss of control and powerlessness is the same for both types of disaster at the moment it happens. However, the processing of the traumatising experience is different. Traumas caused by people are more difficult for the individual to process than natural disasters. The article describes in detail what happens in the body and in the person during traumatisation. It also describes how the body can heal itself. The second part of the article presents the concrete exercise programme for practice.","PeriodicalId":497938,"journal":{"name":"Psychosomatic medicine research","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135649353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
