As a result, its growth trajectory has been uneven and influenced by fluctuations in oil prices. It is concerning that Nigeria has neglected the development of its non-oil sector over the years and has become increasingly dependent on the oil industry to raise money. This paper examines the impact of the non-oil sector on the long-term growth and development of the Nigerian economy using a time series dataset from 1980 to 2016 obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin and using the ordinary least squares (OLS) estimation technique in a linear regression model. The findings indicate that Nigeria's non-oil sector's contribution to the country's sustainable growth is subpar. Policymakers cannot ignore the need to carefully develop the non-oil sector to diversify the Nigerian economy, given the cyclical nature of global oil prices and economic growth, to achieve sustainable growth and development, it is necessary to move past over-reliance on the oil sector and implement diversification strategies, such as developing the non-oil sector. This paper discusses this need. For Nigeria to successfully achieve diversification, the government must implement laws and business initiatives to boost private sector investment, concentrate on the industrialization of the non-oil sector, and support innovations and improvements in public financial management systems and processes through fiscal transparency and accountability. \u0000Keywords: Diversification, Growth, Panacea, Economy, Development.

Effective from February 9, 2023, Circular No. 18/2022/TT-NHNN is attracting the attention of many enterprises and banks in the process of implementation with new regulations. This article analyzes and clarifies the amendments and new supplements related to the trading of debts of credit institutions. The formation and development of the debt trading market, specifically bad debts of enterprises, are objective requirements in Vietnam today. The absence of a debt trading market is considered a major bottleneck in the current bad debt resolution process. According to the Economic Committee of the National Assembly, bad debts in the banking system in 2017 were below 3%, but in reality, bad debts throughout the economy are still high. However, the debt trading market still faces many limitations and requires adjustments to achieve higher efficiency. The activity of buying and selling debts of commercial banks in Vietnam is gradually becoming an objective necessity for the development of the economy. Debt trading is a very new field in Vietnam, but in essence, it is a fundamental economic activity in commercial banks. However, in recent years, the debt trading market has not truly developed, lacking competition among debt buyers, with low debt handling experience, and failing to meet market expectations with a large amount of bad debts to be resolved. This somewhat reduces the demand for debt trading of commercial banks with bad debts, hampering the development of the debt trading market of commercial banks. \u0000Keywords: Debt Trading Market, Bad Debts, Vietnam, Commercial Banks.

This is, in addition to other crucial objectives of profitability, growth in assets, and growth in customer base. To achieve these objectives, commercial banks grant loans to individuals, business organizations and governments among other profit yielding ventures. Loan defaults could be rampant resulting from low quality of assets, high non-performing risk assets (credit risk) that may result in huge loan losses, and reduction in bank profitability leading to adverse effect on return on assets of commercial banks. This study investigates the effect of non-performing loans (using loan loss provision as proxy) on return on assets of selected commercial banks in Nigeria. Annual time series secondary data from 2010 to 2021 were sourced from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and the Annual Financial Reports of affected bank, and panel least square method of analysis was used as our estimation technique. The results revealed that while loan loss provision has negative impact on return on assets of the selected commercial banks, interest rate has a positive impact on return on assets of the selected commercial banks within the period of study. The study recommends, amongst others that effective credit policy, reflected in flexible tenure; restructuring of credit terms; and conversion should be adopted in the selected commercial banks to minimize the negative impacts of loan defaults. This is because decline in loan default will lead to reduction in non-performing loans, and subsequently boost return on assets of affected banks in Nigeria. \u0000Keywords: Non-Performing Loan, Return on Asset, Interest Rates, Bank Performance, Bank Profitability, and Loan Loss Provisions.

It sets out to achieve three primary objectives: to explore the historical development of the financial sector in Africa, review the literature on risk management in financial institutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of regulatory measures in ensuring financial stability. The study uncovers key findings that underscore the growing significance of effective risk management practices in African financial institutions. It highlights adopting advanced technologies and regulatory harmonization as pivotal factors shaping risk management approaches. Additionally, the research underscores the importance of sustainable finance and the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into risk assessments. These findings emphasize that risk management not only ensures financial stability but also contributes to sustainable and responsible financial practices. The broader implications of this study extend to economic stability, investor confidence, and cross-border cooperation. Effective risk management practices mitigate financial risks and support the ongoing regional integration efforts in Africa, such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Ultimately, the study underscores that the future prosperity of African economies is closely tied to embracing evolving risk management practices, fostering a resilient financial landscape in the region.

The study investigated trade liberalization's impact on Nigeria's unemployment from 1981 to 2022. The study divided trade liberalization into exports trade and imports trade. The study employs the Ordinary Lease Square. The study conducted for descriptive statistics tested for unit root where most of the variables like export trade, import trade, real gross domestic product, unemployment, and exchange rate are stationary at first difference I(1), while inflation and foreign direct investment were stationary at level I(0). The study uses to co-integration test to confirm the long-run relationship between trade liberalization (export trade and import trade) and unemployment, and the result shows that there exists a long-run relationship. The result reveals that trade liberalization (both export trade and import trade) has a negative and significant relationship with unemployment in Nigeria; it means that an increase in both export and import trade will reduce unemployment in the country. The study concluded and recommended that the government should establish a trade policy that enhances employment opportunities and would contribute significantly to reducing unemployment in Nigeria.

The deterioration in the quality of life of children with growth, development and metabolic disorders increases health care costs. In the long run, stunting can affect the quality of human resources and social development in Indonesia. Alderman et al. (2006) found that children with developmental delays tend to have lower cognitive abilities, lower incomes, and less than optimal productivity when they grow up so that it will affect the improvement of the quality of Human Resources and the nation's competitiveness in the future. Strengthening the quality of human resources is still a top priority in the 2020-2024 RPJMN, in connection with efforts to strengthen these human resources, the Government has established a National Strategy for the Acceleration of Stunting Prevention in 2020-2024. In the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, the Indonesian government sets a target of reducing the prevalence of stunting in children under 5 years old by only 14% by 2024. Stunting reduction is a national priority program, so budget policies and fiscal capacity adequacy are needed. The stunting reduction budget from the State Budget is channeled through the Provincial-District/City Governments according to the authority for these activities. The budget allocation is expected to be part of orchestration with own regional funds to reduce stunting prevalence in Indonesia. This study will analyze the relationship between budget policies, fiscal capacity conditions, and stunting prevalence in 34 (thirty-four) provinces in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022 using the fixed effect method.

The banking system in Greece is regulated by the European Central Bank (ECB) and is composed of various types of banks, including systemic commercial banks, non systemic commercial banks and cooperative banks. The purpose of this study is to study the case of the reduction or not of the occurrence of bank bankruptcy after the acquisition they made of banks with financial difficulties. For this purpose, we study the possible bankruptcy of the acquired banks before their acquisition, as well as the possible bankruptcy of the acquiring banks before and after the acquisition. There are several models for predicting bankruptcy, including financial ratio analysis Z-score model, Zeta model, financial soundness model and other models. In this study to predict bankruptcy for banks we use the Zeta model for banks. This model is one of the commonly used in the international scientific community. The time period of the study is defined after the beginning of the global financial crisis in the year of 2008 and before the pandemic. This global financial crisis as known invaded Greece mainly in year 2010 an the pandemic started at the end of year 2019. The examined time period concerns both a short-term and a long-term period of time for the most rational drawing of conclusions. This specific study is based on the analysis of two of the most characteristic cases involving Greek banks involved in takeovers. One case concerns Greek cooperative banks and the other one concerns Greek systemic banks.
