CCEP distinguishes previous flooding algorithms with three features: (1) it exploits the link correlation between neighbours; the one-hop neighbours that have high link correlation are assigned to an aggregate explicit or implicit acknowledgement (aggregate ACK), thus effectively ameliorating the ACK implosion problem and saves energy on both data transmit and ACKs; (2) it balances the residual energy of sensor nodes; (3) it achieves target reliability and energy efficiency by tracking real-time aggregate ACKs and probabilistically deciding whether to retransmit a packet. However, the barrier coverage problem in wireless camera sensor networks WCSNs is different from that in scalar sensor networks. In this paper, based on k, ω-angle coverage, we study the minimum k, ω-angle barrier coverage problem in WCSNs. We first present the technique to deploy minimum number of camera sensors to form a k, ω-angle barrier. Then propose a novel method to select the minimum number of camera sensors from an arbitrary deployment to form a k, ω-angle barrier. If a sensor stops executing its tasks inactive, the sensor network becomes useless or provides false information. To solve this problem, this paper presents a new protocol based on the election concept, where an election process will be triggered once a sensor ceased communicating with the others nodes; one of the existed sensors will be elected, to execute, besides its previous tasks, those of the inactive sensor. Unlike the usual methods on structure damage identification, a new mass concrete structure damage identification system is demonstrated based on wireless sensor networks WSNs and mobile agent technology. With the identification system, parallel information on the temperature and stress distributed throughout the concrete can be collected and processed by way of wireless sensor nodes. The application of mobile agents in WSNs can improve the collaboration, coordination and information fusion between heterogeneous systems and effectively reduce the transmission of redundant data and node power consumption. It is convenient and reliable to install the system, in which the structure and design can be analysed in detail and field tests can also be accomplished. Under some special situations, the object of the WSN is moving leading to the problems of target tracking. Since real-time and communication amount is crucial for the WSN target tracking, the performance of target tracking in the WSN is critically depended on real-time and communication amount reduction. This paper presents a target tracking method based on distributed adaptive particle filtering in binary WSN. On the basis of dynamic clustering, the adaptive particle filter receives the observations from children nodes and formulates the local estimate with the cluster head as the processing centre. A wireless link model reflecting the swing state of HAP is proposed, and the problems associated with HAPs' instability are resolved. Furthermore, in this study issues concerning inefficient and poor communication quality, caused by significant random validation in receiving and transmitting signal in case of platform swing, are also solved. Providing an efficient privacy-preserving data aggregation in WSNs is becoming more and more important. The secure data aggregation in WSNs has been studied in recent years, but most of the algorithms are suffering from the high computation overhead and high communication overhead, and some of the algorithms do not supply the data integrity checking. To resolve these problems, a modified private-preserving data aggregation based on complex number algorithm for WSN is proposed in this paper. An efficient key distribution scheme is used in the algorithm to improve the security of the key. The complex number is used in the algorithm to protect the privacy and check the data integrity. Besides, a direction correction factor and a distance threshold were defined in the improved trilateration localisation algorithm and the improved distance difference correction localisation algorithm. This algorithm with the advantages of short locating time, low hardware spending and little power consumption can effectively improve the location accuracy. To further remedy the deficiency of the 2D directional sensing model that cannot accurately characterise the actual DSNs, a 3D directional sensing model is established in this paper, and the key parameters are calculated precisely that may be utilised in any algorithms. Moreover, motivated by the existing coverage-enhancing algorithm of WSNs, hybrid optimisation algorithm for area coverage enhancement HOA-ACE is also proposed that is an improvement of particle swarm optimisation PSO and conjugate gradient algorithm CGA. In the proposed hybrid optimisation algorithm HOA, we not only focus on the global searching, but also trying to reduce possibility of falling into the local optimum. Finally, simulation results are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
