Data sources: A bibliographic review was carried out with a search in the database: VHL Odontologia, Scielo and Pubmed on the subject. Data synthesis: the fundamental criteria for determining the best surgery Technique I'm be used in the treatment of gingival recessions are: the classification of recessions , the location of the recession ( maxilla or mandible ), the fact that it is single or multiple , the presence or absence of keratinized apical or lateral gingiva _ the recession, the thickness characteristic of the periodontal (periodontal biotype) and the skill of the operator. Conclusions: the choice of surgery technique, with the objective of root coverage, must follow a careful assessment of clinical findings, diagnosis and operator skill. This increases the predictability of success of the surgery therapy I'm be used.","PeriodicalId":489187,"journal":{"name":"MOJ biology and medicine","volume":"16 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140439350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Mozambique, cases of drug stocks breaking in health units constitute a concern for the population of users, academics and the government in finding solutions to resolve this situation. The objective of the present study is to eliminate the factors that influence the rupture of medicine stocks in health units in the district of Mocuba. Methodology: The study was carried out in health units in the district of Mocuba, Province of Zambézia in the year 2023. This is an explanatory and retrospective research, with a quantitative approach. The instruments used were elaborate documents called medication lists, requisitions, delivery notes and data organization sheets relating to the study period. Observation and documentary research techniques were used to collect data. The comparative, statistical and inductive method was used. The sample size was 40 medicines in each month of the research period in the health units. The data was analyzed using the Microsoft Excel 2010 program. Results and discussion: 2400 pharmaceutical specialties from different pharmacological groups were studied, namely: ARVS, Antimalarials, Tuberculostatics, Antifungals, Contraceptives and Antibiotics. The percentage of medicines ordered and not received was 34.9 %. The data collected showed that 36.9 % of medications were received with a low level of satisfaction; The group of unordered medicines constitutes 28.2 % and the percentage of medicines diverted to the informal market was 0 %. Conclusions: The factors that influence the rupture of medicine stocks in health units in the district of Mocuba are: medicines ordered and not received, medicines received with a low level of satisfaction, medicines not ordered and in some situations the diversion of medicines to the informal market.","PeriodicalId":489187,"journal":{"name":"MOJ biology and medicine","volume":"1169 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140456707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three advantages of embracing ESG in sustainable construction materials are identified based on the literature reviewed. Firstly, this can significantly reduce the environmental impact of buildings and contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Secondly, by taking a comprehensive approach, decision-makers and practitioners can ensure that their choices align with environmental and financial sustainability and foster social well-being and equity. Thirdly, this can create healthier and more energy-efficient built environments for future generations. Fourthly, this will enable construction practitioners to make informed decisions that consider the holistic impacts of SCMs throughout their life cycle and promote greater transparency and accountability in their selection and use. On the challenge side, the triple bottom line of sustainability encompassing social, economic, and environmental aspects should be rigorously evaluated when considering sustainable construction materials. This integrated perspective is crucial for upholding the construction industry's commitment to UNSDGs and promoting a more responsible and green environment. Decision-makers and practitioners must prioritize implementing SCMs to positively impact the environment, society, and economy.","PeriodicalId":489187,"journal":{"name":"MOJ biology and medicine","volume":"7 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140496937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are currently indicated as markers of the Anthropocene, a geological era caused by human changes on the globe. Even though it is found in all environmental compartments, there are still gaps in scientific knowledge about its real impact on living cells and their dynamics, including in the human organism. Therefore, the objective of the study is to use an internationally standardized and standardized method in representative organisms of the ecosystem, thus using the acute and chronic ecotoxicity test with the microcrustacean Daphnia magna and for the algae Desmodesmus subspicatus, respectively, against polyethylene microspheres, a thermoplastic widely used as an exfoliation product and applied in various cosmetics and hygiene materials. They were tested in neonates according to the reference standards, but 30-day-old adult organisms were also exposed. The results obtained, for the crustaceans, show the Effective Concentration that causes effect in 50% of the organisms (EC50%), with 95% confidence of 0.07 g/L and a DSC – Observed effect concentration of 0.025 g/L for neonates. For the adult specimens, 0.025 g/L of EC50 and 0.0025 g/L of DSC were found, showing that the pups are 10x more resistant to plasticizers compared to the adults. For the algae test, the results showed a DSC of 0.05 g/L, inhibiting 20.12% of algae growth compared to the control. In the optical microscope of the crustaceans after exposure, it showed bioaccumulation of the polyethylene microsphere in the carapace and digestive tract of the bioindicator, showing that the impact of microplastics begins in the first trophic levels of the food chain.","PeriodicalId":489187,"journal":{"name":"MOJ biology and medicine","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135170752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately however, resistance to such drugs develops in almost all cases after a few months to a year; thisgives the tumor selective advantage by allowing it access to other passenger promoter genes. Several mechanisms of resistance have been explored in the literature ranging from Rb1 mutations to epigenetic aberrancies as a result of using this class of drugs. Here we go over two cases of advanced stage four breast cancer treated with Palbociclib with initial response but eventual resistance. Patients were then started on epigenetic therapies to reverse resistance whichwas met with improved treatment response as evident by clinical and radiological measures. We conclude that the addition of multitargeted epigenetic therapies (MTET) to this class of drugs is clinically impactful by preventing/reversing tumor resistance and further providing possible synergistic effects of biological modifiers.","PeriodicalId":489187,"journal":{"name":"MOJ biology and medicine","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135821710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
