The study examined numerous issues that MSMEs in the area were facing as well as their performance. This article is based on primary data that were gathered by a structured questionnaire and a Google survey, respectively, both of which were conducted offline and online. The research has shown the sample MSMEs owners’ and managers’ socioeconomic and demographic profiles. The average value of production, average sales, net profit, the value of raw materials consumed, amount of working capital, various sources of finance for MSMEs in the Aligarh district such as the value of fixed assets, amount of owned funds, and amount of borrowed funds have all been broken down component by component to highlight the performance of MSMEs. The article also covers the many issues that MSMEs in the research area confront. The chi-square test has been used to examine the relationship between an enterprise’s line of business and the aforementioned factors.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME. Entrepreneurs are said to be an organisation and country’s wealth generators. Further, entrepreneurs are an important asset to any country as they are job-creators and help to alleviate the all-important problem of unemployment, especially in a hugely populated country like India. The Indian economy underwent a major change with the introduction of LPG (Liberalisation, Privatisation and Globalisation) Policy in 1991 which led to the elimination of ‘License Raj’ system and consequently reduction of governmental control on Indian economy to a great extent. This finally led to the emergence of many first-generation entrepreneurs after 1991, who are the focus area of this study and have been termed as new-age entrepreneurs by the authors. This study has analysed the behavioural traits of new-age Indian entrepreneurs and examined the influence of these traits on adoption of their strategies and emergence of any common pattern.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME. Their role in sustained growth even during the pandemic era is established. Numerous initiatives thus were planned by the government for their growth, sustenance and expansion. Digitalisation is one such initiative as well as a solution in the ‘new normal’. Despite its availability, access and government support, there is considerable digital divide in micro and small businesses. Experience and research confirms that the lack of digital skills and IT literacy is an important reason for this digital divide in India. Studies also reveal a lack of assessment framework to measure the basic digital skills/competencies that cater to micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This paper is an attempt to fill this gap by building a conceptual framework using evidence-centred assessment design (ECD) model that can comprehensively assess the Digital literacy skills/ levels among the MSMEs. This framework will benefit the stakeholders in understanding the current level of digital literacy, skill gap and digital adaptability among the MSMEs and provide a basis for planning digital literacy initiatives and skill development programs. The framework facilitates scale development for empirical testing thus adding to the theoretical rigor. In addition, the paper will open up avenues for future research through scale development to test the measurement of measure digital literacy in different contexts.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME. However, there is scant empirical evidence showing that these initiatives are successful. Drawing on the findings of a survey of SMEs in Uttar Pradesh, India, this study clarifies how EPP strengthen firms’ export competence and activities. Based on 449 responses from registered exporters and Smart PLS-SEM, results show that perceived usefulness (PU), perceived market competencies (PM), and support mechanisms (SM) favour programme adequacy (PA) and directly affect the performance of the export. Furthermore, by elaborating on how EPPs can affect a company’s export performance (EP), this research fills a void in the current literature by examining the results of EPPs in Uttar Pradesh from the vantage point of the firm as the unit of analysis.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME. Other countries, like Japan, Russia, the USA, have remarkable growth in entrepreneurial practices, which also leads to their country’s growth and prosperity. Their economies are much more robust and self-dependent. It contributes considerably to production, and this sector creates nearly one-third of total export. The study explores the impact of entrepreneurial registrations on the country’s economic development, especially employment. Unemployment in the country is a major problem that needs to be tackled. A country’s growth and development have a robust positive relationship with the number of its population’s employment. A country with colossal work has excellent development chances as the economy’s demand and supply side is balanced. The study aims to find the statistical relationship between entrepreneurial rolls and employment generation. It has used the existing literature as a secondary source to fulfil this purpose. Some statistical tools are employed to check the trend and relationship between the variable and concludes that entrepreneurship has a vast potential to solve various economic problems. Still, it needs proper guidelines, assistance and support (financial, technical and legal) to boost economic condition.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME. Many actions have been performed to advance female equality and empower women. The Mudra scheme, one of the popular measures for reducing poverty, has the ability to improve women’s status in the current male-dominated culture. Thus, the main aim of the study is to analyse the influence of the PMMY scheme on employability and Women empowerment. The respondents of the current study, which is grounded on ʻprimary dataʼ, are Indian women entrepreneurs in the state of Haryana. The study collected required information using a self-administered interview schedule using a ʻcross-sectional study designʼ using a ʻstratified random sampling technique (disproportionate)ʼ between June 2022 and October 2022, the primary data were gathered from 570 respondents. The study uses Ordered Logistic Regression, Wilcoxon Sign Test and Effect Size test for the analysis. The findings show that credit amount has a big impact on employability. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test results from the study show that there has been a considerable increase in the respondents’ fiscal, societal, and psychosomatic empowerment when compared to the Before-Mudra loan phase.","PeriodicalId":487370,"journal":{"name":"SEDME.
