The material used was 96 DOC Strain CP 707 broiler chickens produced by PT Charoen Pokphan Indonesia. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and six replications. The treatments tried were: R0: Drinking water without binahong leaf solution, R1: Drinking water containing 20 ml of binahong leaf solution per liter of water, R2: Drinking water containing 30 ml of binahong leaf solution per liter of water, R3: Drinking water containing 40 ml of solution binahong leaves per liter of water. Parameters measured were daily body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and water intake. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed intake, daily body weight gain, feed conversion ratio and drinking water intake. The conclusion of this study was that the administration of binahong leaf solution with levels of 0, 20, 30 and 40 ml/l drinking water gave the same effect on the performance of early-phase broilers.","PeriodicalId":485356,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Nukleus Peternakan","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136286719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The material used is fresh semen from one 3 years old angus bull that has good quality. Good quality semen was dilut with EY-CW diluent with the addition of glutathione at the levels of 0% (T0), 0.1% (T1), 0.2% (T2), and 0.3% (T3). After dilution, the semen stored at 3-5oC. Evaluation of semen after dilution was carried out every 24 hours of storage for motility, viability, abnormalities and survival of spermatozoa. The research data were analyzed with analysis of variance and continued with the Duncan test. The results showed that the addition of 0.2% glutathione level (T2) had the best quality (P<0.05) compared to other treatments, namely motility (47.00±2.09%), viability (57.64±3.08%), abnormality (6.20±1.29%) and survival (4.00±0.00 days). It was concluded that the addition of a glutathione level of 0.2% in the AK-KT diluent provided the best and more effective influence in maintaining the quality of angus bull liquid semen until the fourth day of storage.","PeriodicalId":485356,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Nukleus Peternakan","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135090284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the breed on sperm motility using Madura, Bali bulls and Bos taurus frozen semen. The experiment used local bull frozen semen (Madura and Bali bull breeds) and Bos taurus bull (Simmental and Limousin breeds) produced by Singosari’s artificial insemination center. Sperm motility evaluation was conducted using computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA, Spermvision, Minitube®, Germany). The analyzing data uses a generalized linear model, one-way ANOVA using the SPSS 26 software. Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) was used to determine any significant differences. The result shows for total motility (TM) and progressive motility (PM) are 63.89±1.72% and 54.38±4.39% (Madura bull), 51.48±3.30% and 42.47±5.48% (Bali bull), 58.21±1.13% and 44.38±3.15% (Simmental bull), also 58.12±1.64% and 51.49±3.03% (Limousin bull). There is no differential sperm motility (P>0.005) in both parameters for all breeds. All frozen semen used in this study qualifies with Indonesian National Standards and is approved for use in the artificial insemination program.","PeriodicalId":485356,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Nukleus Peternakan","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135471317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
