Estos discursos muchas veces resultan tan verosímiles, racionales y coherentes haciendo que el diagnostico se dilate en el transcurso del tiempo por los profesionales intervinientes y solapadamente el TCA se hipertrofia de tal manera que el impacto tanto físico, emocional y social es de tal magnitud que las intervenciones terapéuticas deben ser incisivas y determinantes a fin de evitar un desenlace fatal. Se verá en el transcurso del articulo como en diversas épocas y contextos el discurso con las explicaciones racionales cargadas de emociones puede variar, pero el objetivo y la finalidad queda intacto. El término disolución sintomática se refiere al desvanecimiento del síntoma en el contexto que se despliega pasando desapercibido, mimetizándose con el entorno.","PeriodicalId":484252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Cognitive Neuroscience","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135851997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It constitutes a crucial skill for the daily functioning of the elderly. It might also be prematurely compromised in neurodegenerative diseases. In the Latin American region, objective measures are not available for its assessment. The aim of this study is to explore prospective memory in patients diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. As specific aims, we intend to discriminate the performance on prospective memory between patients and healthy subjects and to study the internal consistency and inter-examiner reliability of the Mini Cóndor Test (a simplified version of a prospective memory test developed in Argentina). We carried out a comparative study including a group of 20 patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment and a group of 20 healthy subjects as control group. Results indicated significant statistically differences between groups in prospective memory performance in favor of the control group. The Mini Cóndor Test met adequate scores for internal consistency and inter-rater reliability. These preliminary results suggest that the Mini Cóndor Test has the potential to early detect cognitive impairment associated to neurodegenerative pathology.

Its objective is to evaluate the combination of parameters and acoustic characteristics found in the speech of normal individuals (n = 23), previously grouped according to a psychometric study of their personality in order to sort out Primary Personality Factors (PPF) and improve our knowledge on Human Temperaments. Acoustic parameters under study were: fundamental frequency (F0), total maximum energy and total duration, normal constituents of prosodic information. A three-syllable same phrase was analyzed in all the cases. The subject´s emissions were registered on a Sony (WM – 6 × 320) recorder and the phrase studied for each individual (N = 22) was processed with the Anagraf speech acoustic analysis program. The acoustic characteristics more useful to discriminate between PPF groups are: a) F0 rank and b) energy differences between stressed syllables and those not stressed. Acoustic studies can complement psychometric ones in order to differentiate each PPF group.","PeriodicalId":484252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Cognitive Neuroscience","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135895215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objetivo: Diseñar una herramienta de pesquisa rápida de riesgo de desarrollo de dislexia para uso pediátrico y escolar. Método: Se desarrolló un instrumento compuesto por 7 ítems o estímulos de prueba. Participaron 138 infantes, entre 5-7 años y 11 meses, sin patologías neurológicas ni déficit visuales o auditivos, que concurrían a controles de salud pediátrico o a escuela inicial o primaria de Bariloche, Argentina. Resultados: La herramienta diseñada mostró muy buenos índices psicométricos y de correlación con las pruebas de TDR y LEE, lo cual permitiría una primera aproximación a una herramienta predictora de riesgo de desempeño lector. Conclusiones: la prueba en su etapa piloto permitió comparar el desempeño de niños en conciencia fonológica, fluidez y memoria de trabajo, predictores del aprendizaje del lenguaje escrito. La ampliación de la muestra y su validación permitirá el fácil acceso a su uso en escuelas o consultorios pediátricos.","PeriodicalId":484252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Cognitive Neuroscience","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135568678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Después del oscurantismo medieval en el siglo xviii aparece la frenología de Franz Gall (1758-1828), quien si bien fue el primero en relacionar las conductas a centros cerebrales y a la forma del cráneo (neuropsicología) se le consideró en la época como charlatanería. We demonstrated the preclinical efficacy of a single-chain variable-fragment (scFv) antibody NUsc1 that selectively targets a subpopulation of AβOs; NUsc1 prevented AβO-induced inhibition of long-term potentiation in hippocampal slices and short-term memory impairment in mice. Since specific targeting of AβOs by NUsc1 may be a substantial improvement in target engagement and efficacy for AD therapy, we developed an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector to drive neuronal expression of NUsc1 within the brain. AAV-NUsc1 rescued short-term memory (STM) for objects and congeners interaction in mice AD models. Purpose: In heterozygous McGill-R-Thy1-APP transgenic (Tg+/–) rat model of AD, progressive amyloid pathology is accompanied by cognitive impairment involving long-term memory (LTM) decline. LTM in a novel-object-recognition (NOR) task was impaired in 4-month-old (Tg+/–) male rats, suggesting that they are unable to form/evoke such discriminative memories. Hence, we investigated if AAV-NUsc1 treatment could rescued this memory. Methods: 10-12 weeks-old either Tg or wild type male rats were i.c.v. infused with AAV-NUsc1. Two months later, short-term exploratory behavior, habituation to an open field (OF), object discrimination and LTM for objects were assessed. Results: AAV-NUsc1 treated Tg rats were able to successfully perform the task 24 h after training, denoting recovery of LT discrimination capacity and LTM formation. Wild type rats successfully performed the task either treated or not with AAV-NUsc1. Also, exploration and short-term habituation to an open field was preserved in Tg+/– rats either treated or not. Conclusions: Our present and previous results suggest that AAV-NUsc1 represents a significant advance in gene therapy, supporting the feasibility of immunotherapy using viral vector-mediated NUsc1 gene delivery as a potential therapeutic approach in AD.","PeriodicalId":484252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Cognitive Neuroscience","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136251963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
