This research topic has drawn scientists from a variety of areas of study, including biochemistry and medicine, due to its inherent scientific interest as well as the numerous potential applications for reliable protein structure prediction algorithms, ranging from genome comprehension to protein function prediction. In the past decade, there has been a significant improvement in methods for protein structure prediction and design. New data-intensive and computationally demanding approaches for structure prediction have been developed as a result of increases in computing power and the rapid growth of protein sequence and structure datasets. These approaches typically begin by assuming a probability distribution of protein structures given a target sequence and then finding the most likely structure; however, computer scientists formulate protein structure prediction as an optimization problem in finding the structural solution. Homology modeling, also known as Comparative modeling of the 3D structure of a protein by utilizing structural information from other known protein structures with good sequence similarity, is employed in our study. Homology models contain significant information about the spatial organization of key residues in the protein and are frequently employed in drug design for screening large libraries using molecular docking techniques. The generic structure prediction flowchart is followed by presentations and discussions of important concepts and techniques.","PeriodicalId":484000,"journal":{"name":"Fayoum University Journal of Engineering","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140399646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

God Almighty has appointed man on earth to build it, granted him intelligence and strength, subjugated all creatures to him, and provided him with the means of living to fulfill this message. And Allah says: \"We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them which of them is best in deed\" [verse 7 of Surat Al-Kahf]. Therefore, it was necessary to put forward a theoretical framework in five chapters, the most important theories that explain the relationship between the characteristics of the natural and built environment in natural reserves in Egypt, where the focus was on building restrictions in natural reserves at the forefront of the topic. Then It’s dealt with the role of architectural formation in achieving sustainability by knowing the principles of sustainable architectural formation through compatibility of requirements and criteria for achieving sustainability with the characteristics of sustainable architectural formation in natural reserves. Then, at the end of the theories, It’s dealt with the formulation of sustainable architectural formation using traditional architecture techniques, with knowledge of traditional architecture in terms of concept, characteristics, techniques, and standards. In the fourth chapter, the analysis of international and Arab experiences in natural reserves and the reasons for choosing these experiences were dealt with. The experiments were analyzed and evaluated in the light of the proposed methodology, with deriving the criteria that must be met in order to reach the role of traditional architecture techniques in serving the marketable architectural formation of \"sustainability\". Thus, in the fifth chapter, the case study was applied and evaluated in the light of the proposed methodology, while extracting the criteria that must be met in order to reach the role of traditional architecture techniques in formulating sustainable architectural formation in nature reserves in Egypt.","PeriodicalId":484000,"journal":{"name":"Fayoum University Journal of Engineering","volume":"50 46","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140400510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is crucial in the economy of many industrial companies in developing countries. This study proposes a deep learning algorithm called Mask RCNN to segment coffee leaves from complex real-world backgrounds and classify them as healthy and unhealthy. The RoCole dataset was manually labeled using the VGG Image annotator. The algorithm uses Resnet101 and the FPN architecture for feature extraction. The RPN creates region proposals for each feature map to separate the input image from the background. The system has a high-test accuracy of 97.76% for the binary classifier. If the image is classified as unhealthy, it goes through another segmentation stage based on the HSV color model to highlight the defective areas of the coffee leaf. The instance segmentation results showed that the mAP@50:95 was 100%, the recall@50:95 was 84.5%, and the F1-score was 91.6%.","PeriodicalId":484000,"journal":{"name":"Fayoum University Journal of Engineering","volume":"42 5-6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140523578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, a review of past studies for introducing empirical equations for estimating the flexural PH length ( l p ) of RC frames was introduced. Another key aspect explored in this paper is to study the effect of different available l p equations on the overall nonlinear structural response of RC frames. Therefore, ten l p equations were selected from this review for simulating the nonlinear behavior of two RC frames with available experimental data. Each frame was analyzed ten times with alternative l p values under pushover analysis using SAP2000 software. T he two modeled frames displayed an average error ranging from 12.3% to 23% in the ultimate lateral load, and a deviation ranging from -30.4% to 20.1% in the initial lateral stiffness. These errors indicated that the accuracy of predicting the behavior of RC frames is highly dependent on the chosen l p equation. Finally, the proper l p equation which could represent the nonlinear behavior of RC frames accurately was recommended.","PeriodicalId":484000,"journal":{"name":"Fayoum University Journal of Engineering","volume":"177 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes an energy-efficient clustering and secure communication protocol for WSNs. The protocol includes an efficient cluster head (CH) selection scheme that employs backup CHs and a suitable CH handover threshold to reduce network energy consumption. Additionally, a pairing-free identity-based digital signature (PFIBDS) algorithm based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is implemented to ensure secure communication be-tween CH and base station (BS) and CH and sensor nodes (SN). The proposed protocol is evaluated through simulations using MATLAB and compared against modified versions of existing protocols. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol outperforms the modified EECSM protocol in terms of network lifetime by 86.55% when the CH handover threshold is set to 40% . An optimal CH handover threshold of 60% is identified to balance prolonging network lifetime and achieving satisfactory average residual energy. Overall, the proposed protocol offers an effective solution for energy-efficient clustering and secure communication in WSNs.","PeriodicalId":484000,"journal":{"name":"Fayoum University Journal of Engineering","volume":"25 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140526897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
