This research method uses qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that the pattern of interaction between tribes in the Tanjung Luar area began with the existence of the Baai van Pidjoe port, then around 1907, the port was moved to Tanjung Luar until it was busy being visited by tribes from outside. On the coast of Tanjung Luar, there are several patterns of interaction between tribes in daily life, namely, cooperation, exchange, dispute, and competition. The social impact is the interaction between tribes, a heterogeneous society free of conflict/strengthening unity and integrity, and as a vehicle for inter-tribal meetings. This is interesting to study because the entire Indonesian nation is trying to maintain its independence from the Second Dutch Military Aggression on December 19, 1948. The method used to obtain data and information is by collecting books, archives, and interviews with former PMI members in the Second War of Independence in Yogyakarta. Data processing for this writing is based on a historical approach. This was deliberately chosen because it will reveal more about the founding of PMI during the Second War of Independence in Yogyakarta. Data obtained from various sources is selected and source critique is carried out and arranged in factual relationships to form an understanding which is then expressed in narrative descriptive writing.
