Especially endangered plant populations have been significantly affected. This study delves into the impact of urbanization on endangered plant populations, and takes Hainan wild rice as a case study to analyze the degree of damage to its habitat caused by urbanization and the difficulties in protection. Hainan wild rice originated in specific wetland areas in Hainan, but with the urban expansion, its habitat has been severely damaged and the population has sharply decreased. Based on this practical background, this study further proposes a series of conservation strategies, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive management and multi-party participation, aiming to provide practical guidance for the protection of endangered plant populations.","PeriodicalId":474706,"journal":{"name":"International journal of molecular ecology and conservation","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135445238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through in-depth research on aspects like root systems, canopies, and ecology, this study reveals the significant roles and values of ancient trees within ecosystems. The research findings indicate that ancient trees possess well-developed root systems and dense canopies, enabling them to maintain soil fertility, enhance microenvironments, and uphold biodiversity, thereby playing crucial roles in maintaining ecological balance and preserving biodiversity. Ancient trees hold extensive and profound natural scientific value, offering essential resources and data for multiple disciplinary studies. This study emphasizes the importance of conserving ancient trees and suggests strategies for their scientific utilization. It provides scientific evidence concerning the ecological functions and values of ancient trees, offering vital insights for their conservation and informed utilization.","PeriodicalId":474706,"journal":{"name":"International journal of molecular ecology and conservation","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135650010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This review aims to compare and analyze the growth, development, and morphological characteristics of different types of ancient trees, revealing their biological attributes and aesthetic features. Research findings indicate a close correlation between the growth and morphological characteristics of ancient trees and factors such as their growth environment, tree species, and age. Different types of ancient trees exhibit unique developmental patterns and morphological features. Through in-depth research and analysis of the growth, development, and morphological characteristics of ancient trees, a better understanding of their biological attributes can be achieved. The objective of this review is to provide a theoretical basis for the conservation and sustainable utilization of ancient trees.","PeriodicalId":474706,"journal":{"name":"International journal of molecular ecology and conservation","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135659432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
