Quantitative and qualitative techniques were adopted to collect data on integration variables via the administration of questionnaires to groups of Igbos from the five states of the Southeast region, and the conduct of In-depth Interviews (IDIs) with Igbo elders. Fifty copies of questionnaires were distributed to each group, totaling 250. Data were analysed by SPSS version 25, and tables and charts were generated and the qualitative data were content analysed. On socioeconomic integration, the results showed that the majority (88.1%) of Igbos were first generation migrants, who arrived to start business in Lafia over 40 years ago, whereby, almost three-fifths (59.5%) of them started their current occupation. Majority (37.6%) of Igbo migrants’ present occupation was facilitated by ‘master’, ‘family’ (66.8%) facilitated their accommodation, close to 70 per cent of them possessed their personal houses, and over two-fifths (43.1%) of them got landed property through ‘friend’ while close to three-quarters (74.8%) got married to Lafia indigenes. On ethnographic integration, three-quarters were proficient in Hausa language, with half rated their proficiency in Hausa language ‘excellent,’ while Gwandara language became the best secondary proficient language. As par political integration, over half (52.0%) of Igbo migrants held political office within their association politics but few with the wider politics. In summary, Igbo migrants have been experiencing dynamic and positive integrations but facing challenges of ethnic divide and nepotism.","PeriodicalId":474402,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Asian multicultural research for social sciences study","volume":"8 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whether the client is an individual or a legal entity, they have the right to open multiple bank accounts, either within one bank, or across several branches of the same bank, or even in different banks. This gives rise to legal implications. Having multiple bank accounts across different banks generally does not pose any legal issues due to the legal independence of these accounts. However, challenges may arise when opening multiple accounts with the same bank or its branches. Each account is subject to specific rules governing its operation, suspension, and associated transactions. Consequently, there is a variation in the financial returns of these accounts based on their independence, leading to legal implications such as seizure and client bankruptcy. If a client goes bankrupt and has both creditor and debtor accounts, the bank pays the creditor balance in the creditor account to the bankruptcy estate. The bank is treated as a debtor with the debtor account balance and is subject to the division of creditors. This means that the bank cannot offset the creditor side of one account against the debtor side of another account opened by the same client. Moreover, according to the principle of independence, if one of the client's accounts in a bank or its branches is seized, it does not affect other accounts, and the seizure does not extend to them. This is in contrast to situations lacking independence.","PeriodicalId":474402,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Asian multicultural research for social sciences study","volume":"84 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138600381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Ma'nene' ritual is a funeral ceremony that honors ancestors and is related to symbols that have meaning in the life of the Torajan people. The Toraja people believe in the Aluk Todolo belief, which combines elements of local beliefs and elements of Christianity. The Ma'nene' ritual is understood as a way to respect ancestors, care for them, and preserve culture. The traditional meaning, rooted in the Aluk Todolo belief, has experienced a shift to a modern meaning that emphasizes love, gratitude, respect and care for ancestors. This study reveals the complexity of interactions between tradition, religion and cultural preservation in Toraja society. The Ma'nene' ritual is a symbol of changes in meaning and implementation that reflects the combination of Aluk Todolo beliefs and the influence of Christianity, with the aim of preserving cultural heritage.","PeriodicalId":474402,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Asian multicultural research for social sciences study","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135968990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Palu City, as a disaster-prone area, has a history that underlies the urgency of this research. A qualitative approach with non-probability sampling techniques is used to understand in more depth the dynamics and complexity of post-disaster management policies. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with informants selected purposefully, including affected residents, government institutions, and related non-government organizations. The research results highlight various aspects of the implementation of post-disaster management policies in Palu City. Constraints in land acquisition and budget limitations are the main challenges. Data analysis through Grindle's theoretical approach reveals the importance of considering policy content, such as the types of benefits produced and desired changes, as well as the policy context, including the roles and interests of the actors involved. This research also includes an evaluation of community perceptions of the policy and their level of participation in its implementation. By considering theoretical and practical aspects, this research provides a solid foundation for recommending more effective policy improvements focused on meeting the needs of affected communities and improving disaster preparedness and management in the future. Finally, this research has important implications for making policies that are more adaptive and responsive to the local disaster context and community aspirations.","PeriodicalId":474402,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Asian multicultural research for social sciences study","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135246574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"Implementation of the Customs Collection Policy Rights to Land and Building in North Toraja Regency","authors":"Rusdin Nawi","doi":"10.47616/jamrsss.v3i4.384","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.47616/jamrsss.v3i4.384","url":null,"abstract":"This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and document review. Data analysis techniques are used starting from the data collection stage, data reduction, data display, data verification, until the conclusion stage. The results showed that the communication aspect was running quite well. In the aspect of resources, it is good enough because of adequate staff, both in quality and quantity. In the disposition aspect, employee placement is quite effective with the existing structure. In the aspect of bureaucratic structure, it has not been going well. Even though there is a Standard Operating Procedure that is used as a reference in carrying out the work, the stages are too long. Thus, it can be suggested that in the communication aspect, the Regional Revenue Agency conducts outreach directly to the community by coordinating with the sub-district and lurah / head of lembang to present the community as participants. On the resource aspect, it is necessary to improve the capacity of employees through technical guidance activities related to services. In the disposition aspect, there is a need for consistency from the leadership and employees in their duties and responsibilities because of the high incentives provided. In the aspect of bureaucratic structure, it is necessary to simplify standard operating procedures so that they are easy to run. Furthermore, it requires commitment and consistency from employees in order to properly implement these standard operating procedures.","PeriodicalId":474402,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Asian multicultural research for social sciences study","volume":"154 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135754746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
