The main goal of the work is to study the socio-economic aspects, such as environmental sustainability, social development and poverty reduction, green growth inclusiveness, and resource use efficiency. The result is oriented to support one of the six green economy sectors – Waste – and to achieve sustainable economic growth objectives. The research seeks to understand what prevents Jordan from implementing the goals established in current plans and strategies. The author offers suggestions for the development of Jordan’s future-proof vision for a green economy – waste picking could be an option for reducing poverty and innovation outcomes, as salvageable waste could be used as inputs to the manufacturer of products, thereby reducing the need for importing secondary raw materials.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135152319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors analyzed one of the implications of the WTO regulatory system in the framework of global trade liberalization, particularly the Doha Round. The analysis outcomes show the importance and effectiveness of WTO policies towards developing countries and help to formulate the position of such countries in WTO policies and reforms. However, we have to admit that this requires the recognition of benefits by all participants, developed and developing countries, unless it could lead to significant economic cost for all. In order to get a greater beneficial impact or/and minimize potential loss, the authors suggest following multilateral rule-making regulations and carefully conducting a preliminary economic analysis of the country before setting an agreement or dialogue, which will point to differentiation between members and could enhance negotiations or/and avoid risk of failure. The study's theoretical and methodological basis are statistics, analysis, marketing, and management working papers of foreign researchers, regulatory documents, periodical press materials, official legal documentation, and publications relating to the specialized subject area of participation in WTO. The findings of this research might add to the knowledge and understanding of the participation of countries in WTO dispute settlement proceedings and the ability of the WTO system to deal with them.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While previous studies have concentrated on financial indicators, the authors recommend a more extensive approach that regards business modernization as an investment choice, appraising both risks and potential gains. The writers advocate for a thorough evaluation of diverse approaches to business modernization in order to ascertain their respective benefits and drawbacks for future implementation. The authors conducted an analysis of the most popular and modern strategies for business modernization in order to identify their corresponding advantages and disadvantages for organizations and their operations in markets. In addition, they proposed to implement one of the analyzed methods for Apple Inc. For this purpose, the review of financial statements with the DuPont analysis for the company should be conducted. The outcomes of the analysis showed its investment potential and current financial position in the market and after that the authors proposed an appropriate business modernization strategy for the company. Although the strategy was evaluated in terms of potential return and risk in the paper. It is crucial to recognize that the conceptual and methodological structure of this research derives from numerous sources encompassing statistical information, working papers on marketing and management by international scholars, as well as literature concerning business modernization processes and financial aspects. Through the utilization of a multifaceted methodology, it is expected that this investigation will contribute to an enhanced understanding and deeper insights into the procedures involved in modernizing businesses as well as their financial implications.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is found that after signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in June 2014, Ukraine pledged to implement a number of EU environmental directives, including Directive 2003/87/EU establishing a system for trading in greenhouse gas emission allowances. It is established that in order to improve the level of environmental safety in Ukraine and reduce the impact and consequences of climate change, the Government of Ukraine approved the Strategy for Environmental Safety and Climate Change Adaptation until 2030 in 2021. It is revealed that since the beginning of 2022, Ukraine has fulfilled its obligations under international treaties, and it is found that most companies comply with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation and support the country's decision to introduce an emission allowances trading system in Ukraine. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions”, according to which, starting from January 1, 2021, Ukraine will monitor, report and verify greenhouse gas emissions at the level of individual facilities, which enables Ukraine to ensure the trading of greenhouse gas emission allowances. It is established that Ukraine’s domestic and foreign policy prioritize the prevention of climate change through a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in wartime. Starting in 2025, Ukraine will introduce a greenhouse gas emissions trading system as part of its efforts to reduce emissions and achieve carbon neutrality. We find that clear rules must be established to ensure effective operation, supervision, and control of the emissions trading system in Ukraine. This includes identifying specific bodies responsible for regulating, implementing, and monitoring the system’s proper implementation in Ukraine, while also defining and delegating their respective roles and rights in regulating, implementing, and controlling the emissions trading system.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emergence of the green economy is linked to worldwide transformative shifts and advancements in science and technology, brought about by the development of new technological systems. The green economy leads to promoting sustainable development and attaining global goals. The author establishes that the concept of “green economy” is a well-established path to balanced development that encourages investment from governments, businesses, and citizens in natural capital (increasing the proportion of protected areas, strengthening forest protection, etc.), resolving energy issues and producing organic food, addressing land management issues, optimizing the allocation of limited resources, and enhancing resource management. The article considers the concept of introduction and development of the green bond market in Ukraine, the purpose of which is to identify the directions and tasks for launching a green bond market, thus allowing to finance the implementation of environmental projects, creating and expanding favorable conditions for the development of such a market, and increasing the investment attractiveness of Ukraine. It is found that ensuring sustainable economic development with high GDP growth rates is possible only through the implementation of non-protectionist policies and the development of power engineering under the most effective scenarios foundational for the formation of profitability scenarios. Implementation of the “green transition” concept in Ukraine is based on the use of scenarios created in the course of coordinated forecasts of economic and energy development. The tools and mechanisms that can ensure successful implementation of the “green transition” concept include compliance with energy efficiency and climate change adaptation requirements and standards during the reconstruction of residential, social, and educational infrastructure and settlements at all stages of recovery.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study applied the stochastic frontier methodology to a sample of 233 Ukrainian banks for a six-year period between 2014 and 2019, which showed that the overall mean cost efficiency of Ukrainian banks in the sample is 0.593. The results indicate that the same level of output could be produced with 59.3% of inputs if the banks were operating on the efficient frontier. The results of this study confirm that the Ukrainian banking sector is inefficient and high cost since roughly 40% of inputs are wasted during the production of financial services process.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"222 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the use of data in business-to-business marketing is not a new phenomenon, the digitization and digitalization of firms' business models have recently attracted a great deal of attention. There is a wave of “digitization” in many parts of the world as private businesses, as well as the public sector, embrace information and communication technologies to achieve lesser cost, efficiency, and competitive advantage. However, what we are witnessing is just the beginning of an economic revolution as the full potential of the digital economy is about to be harvested. Nevertheless, this question should be studied more in the future. At the same time, the concept of digitalization in the literature has many meanings and is used in different ways. Consistent communications can make future conversations easier because the definitions are concrete, discussions about misunderstandings and ambiguities are avoided, and trust is built. The research tries to clarify the concept by giving an overview of the existing theory and terms, explains the differences between them based on the recent research on this topic, and specifies the importance of these digital processes in the modern world. The main finding is the meaning of digital transformation, which is not only about powerful technologies but also about resources and people in the first way.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dynamics of shipments of oil crops and their processing products through the ports of Ukraine during the 2020/21 marketing year (MY) were analyzed. It was determined that the share of sunflower oil in the structure of the shipment occupies a significant specific weight, in contrast to rapeseed and soybean oil, where the main product of the shipment was rapeseed and soybean. The indicators of transshipment of vegetable oil during 2019–2021 were studied (with a cumulative total by month), which indicate that although the situation improved in 2020 compared to 2019, but in 2021 compared to 2020, transshipment volumes significantly decreased. The indicators of transshipment of vegetable oil by types of stevedoring companies of all forms of ownership were analyzed in terms of shipping directions in 2021 compared to 2020. The most powerful ports of Ukraine were determined based on transshipment results and their specific weight, as well as key shipping directions. The dynamics of transportation of oil-fat complex cargoes by railway transport was analyzed. It was revealed that in the structure of railway transportation of sunflower seeds for the period 2018–2021, priority was given to internal communication, and in the structure of transportation of vegetable oil, the export route traditionally prevailed. The main problems related to the implementation of railway transportation, including those related to the activities of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, are highlighted. The measures, the practical implementation of which will allow for an increase in the volume of cargoes transportation of oil and fat industry and processing products, are justified, and will also contribute to the improvement of logistics support in the market of oilseeds and oil in general.","PeriodicalId":474272,"journal":{"name":"Business Economics Sustainability Leadership and Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135151920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
