 Design/Methodology/Approach: a systematic review (SR), with a descriptive analysis and critical information, was carried out to develop a holistic view of the theme and offer guidance for future research.
 Findings: the review presented information on the topic, covering studies in environmental efficiency, financial performance, social analysis, and the global details on performance in the hotel industry. The paper shows main research topics/indicators on hotel performance assessment and proposes a more comprehensive path for research.
 Research, Practical & Social Implications: the findings contribute to the understanding of managers of hotels with solutions found in relevant scientific studies and with researchers identifying research gaps in main areas.
 Originality/Value: the review demonstrates the potential for further research in three main areas (economic, environmental, and social). Besides this, an important and promising area of research is shown: to understand the role of each potential component in the global performance of hotels.

{"title":"Mapping the social aspect of GSCM and SSCM: a future research agenda proposal","authors":"Fernanda Martinez Delgado, Claudia Gomes De Aragão, Adriano Alves Teixeira, Barbara Stolte Bezerra","doi":"10.15675/gepros.v18i1.2947","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15675/gepros.v18i1.2947","url":null,"abstract":"Purpose – Identify how the social dimension is investigated in GSCM and SSCM research and propose a research agenda to integrate the social dimension in GSCM and SSCM.
 Theoretical framework – The study deals with the social aspect of the triple bottom line, a theory devised by John Elkington, to identify how the topic is treated in GSCM AND SSCM research.
 Design/methodology/approach – This study adopted a systematic review of the literature approach to examine the literature that integrates GSCM and the SSCM with a focus on the social aspect, based on criteria and an analysis of published studies adapted from Tranfield et al. (2003).
 Findings - The study contains a summary of the papers found and a categorization that defines the state-of-the-art approach to the subject. The analysis supports the fact that China, India, and European countries carry out most of the investigation and produce GSCM and SSCM articles, observing the social aspect in their releases. Quantitative studies explore sustainability in the economic, environmental, and social tripod together. Research in social performance is not yet specialized and measuring this type of performance in an organization is very complex. Studies that address social issues are scarce, and there are still many gaps to be filled in the investigation of the social dimension in GSCM and SSCM.
 Research, Practical & Social implications – As theoretical implications, the study presents a delimitation of the state-of-the-art approach on social issues when GSCM AND SSCM themes are worked together. For practical and managerial implications, it serves as a guide for consulting the best social practices to be adopted by companies.
 Originality/value – The study works on the social aspect between GSCM and SSCM themes together, and studies that deal with social issues are scarce, contributing to the business management area.
 Keywords - GSCM, SSCM, Sustainability, Social performance, Social issues, Social aspects.

Improvement projects are internal initiatives within an organization that can originate from different sources, especially from the search for continued improvement. Theoretical framework – Within this context, the research will seek to understand what are the benefits and influences of Project Management when applied to these types of projects, using as a research method a multiple case study in two companies, in units in Brazil and the United States, in which interviews were conducted with professionals directly involved improvement projects within the organization. Design/methodology/approach – The data from the recorded interviews were transcribed, organized, grouped, compared and analyzed and the discussions and results are presented in the present study. Findings – Relevant findings are that Project Management, at first, provides companies with guidance on how to plan their improvement projects to better execute them, but none of the evaluated companies showed homogeneous adoption.Research, Practical & Social implications - Some of the limitations found in the present study are that only two companies of specific branches were evaluated.Originality/value – This article will seek to investigate what is the influence of the application of the project management methodology on the performance of procedural improvement projects, from its definition, to its planning, execution and observation of the results arising from the practice.Keywords - Project Management, Performance, Results, Processes and Improvement Projects.","PeriodicalId":472156,"journal":{"name":"GEPROS: Gestão da Produção, Operações e Sistemas","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135595095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
