The accumulation of these elements offers vital insights for understanding wear and tear in diesel engine parts. Accurate prediction of such wear is imperative for strategic maintenance planning and cost efficiency. This paper presents an innovative methodology that leverages artificial neural network modeling to forecast the degradation of locomotive diesel engine components based on the concentrations of wear elements in used oil and the corresponding vehicle mileage. The proposed supervised artificial neural network comprises two hierarchical architectures: one linking diesel locomotive operation and wear element concentration, and another associating diesel locomotive operation with diesel engine component wear. Through experimental validation, the results highlight the efficacy of the developed neural network model in precisely estimating the wear of diesel engine components. This predictive capability empowers informed maintenance decision-making to bolster engine reliability and performance.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":" 37","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139138156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fixed length of the sensor cable is buried underground named a security zone. It is generated an alarm when an intruder goes into the security zone. A shielded telecommunication cable can be used for sensing the generated minimal charges by the external intrusion. If two different types of materials are rubbed with each other, minimal electric charges are generated, called the triboelectric effect. Minimal electric charges are generated between the cable shield and conductors when forces and impacts are applied to the underground buried cable. The control device detects and amplifies generated minimal charges due to the intruders on the sensor cable. The proposed system can be shown a reliable intrusion detection rate of up to 96%-97% when we have kept and considered all installation and environmental conditions.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":" 91","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139137905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It addresses both user-level and system-level packet scheduling performance. At the user-level, a Traffic Differentiator stage segregates packet queues from active users into different service queues based on service types. Users are prioritized within each service queue based on their QoS requirements and wireless channel conditions, utilizing SPSSA. At the system-level, fairness among users is a key consideration. We propose the PITDSA in the TD Scheduler stage, which aims to allocate just enough radio resource to real-time and non-real time services and assign the remaining available resource to background service. In the FD Scheduler stage, we propose an optimal CQI selection algorithm for resource allocation to exploit frequency domain multi-user diversity. We present our simulation results and analyses of all novel algorithms, and the performance of the Optimal CQI selection algorithm is compared with other algorithms. Our proposed scheduling algorithm demonstrates improved QoS for real-time and non-real time services while maintaining a good traded user-level and system-level performance. Future work can focus on optimizing the throughput or the fairness or both, and more advanced and complex techniques can be designed with the same goal.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":" 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139138157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information entropy, which reflects the level of uncertainty in a random variable, can be applied to a range of fields, including information and communication technology (ICT). The methodology proposed aims to assign weights to the indicators within the ICT development index and sub-indexes, enabling their global, regional, and country-wise ranking. To test the effectiveness of this methodology, we examined its potential applications for evaluating indexes. Our model integrates a novel approach that combines the entropy weight coefficient method, bootstrap method, correlation coefficient weighting method, and S-shaped diffusion stages of ICT. The natural factors that most affect the propagation of optical light waves are fog, rain, and snow. Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and has an extreme and variable climate. This paper is devoted to analyzing FSO link performance during data transmission in Ulaanbaatar during heavy rain months (July-August) and simulation using OptiSystem software. Marshall and Palmer's model was used for data transmission using FSO link performance to estimate the rainfall reduction, and several factors such as BER rate and Q factor were investigated. We have made a detailed assessment of the result of rainfall on the FSO system in Mongolia based on the technical data on the weather in Ulaanbaatar in 2018, 2019, and 2020 for the three meteorological station servers of the world weather online site www.worldweatheronline.com.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":"36 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124505276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, that model can be used in convergence with other similar diseases due to the genes of the Echinococcus granulosus that causes this parasitic disease, and to analyze it by applying graph algorithms to the established model. Furthermore, there is an urgent need to create a basic model for machine learning and artificial intelligence methods in health and pharmaceuticals. Also, the collection of genes and proteins registered in the official internationally recognized gene-disease databases, as well as the data of drugs and pharmaceutical products used for the specific disease, is the first step in the understanding and development of interdisciplinary science. A neural network is a simplified model that imitates the human brain's processes. In the research paper, we present a neural network control model for quadcopter stabilization. A single hidden layer network model was estimated to investigate the dynamics of the UAV. A control system with a classical PID controller was used to train the neural network model. This method is used for examining how the neural network imitates the stabilization of the quadcopter in real flight mode. The novelty of the work was to design of small size 3 layers NN model that runs in real-time in a quadcopter. There is no universal sign language — the most used one is the American Sign Language. Mongolian Sign Language (MSL) has hand signs for letters of the alphabet, numbers, and other commonly used words. There are an estimated 16000 MSL signers. The lack of means to translate MSL into the Mongolian language, such as professional interpreters or translator applications, hinders MSL signers’ freedom of expression and political and public participation. Here, we created an MSL recognition system model that uses a camera to capture the letter symbols for the MSL alphabet and translates them into written Mongolian words. The proposed model uses two machine learning models that 1) recognize input, sorts, and filters, and 2) process Mongolian language. The model had an F1 score of 0.8678, given 51 distinct hand gestures. The natural language processing model that forms words had sufficient performance, though it can be improved in further works.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122574571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present study, a drug-centric network for a parasitic disease (Echinococcosis) and therapeutic drugs have been considered. A complex network with more than 12,000 vertices and more than 33,000 edges representing interactions of 84 echinococcosis-related genes with associated proteins was built and analyzed. The networks of disease similarity and drug similarity were constructed based on the complex network. As a result, three drugs (D08356, D00701, and D00506) associated with three candidate diseases through three pathways and a protein complex have been extracted. This effort tries to predict the anti-echinococcosis effects of the drugs’ combinations with benzimidazole.","PeriodicalId":441837,"journal":{"name":"ICT Focus","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114514626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
