The patient was then sent to our institution for further evaluation, which surprisingly revealed a lung mass, but no primary breast mass. After biopsies, both areas revealed different immunohistochemistry. She underwent further treatment, with resection of both the lung and axillary tumors. This is an interesting case that report highlights the importance of having high index of suspicion of breast cancer in the setting of axillary mass and, the importance of differentiating associated synchronous versus metastatic cancer.","PeriodicalId":372612,"journal":{"name":"Austin Oncology Case Reports","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132925750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The therapeutic approach in these cases is based on the use of hypomethylating agents, either decitabine or azacitidine, or Low-Dose Cytarabine (LDAC). However, despite the extensive use of these agents, there is no consensus regarding the extent of their efficacy, and clinical benefit deriving from their use is very modest. We present a case of FLT3- and TP53-mutated AML in an unfit patient with congenital agammaglobulinemia, responsive to single agent decitabine, with a response duration of over 20 months.","PeriodicalId":372612,"journal":{"name":"Austin Oncology Case Reports","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127230389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
