Twin deficit is a phenomenon where the budget deficit occurs simultaneously with the current account deficit. The relationship between the government budget and the current account is explained through components in the APBN and the current account balance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the correlation between the budget deficit and the current account deficit. This study uses time series data for the period 1990-2019, obtained from Kementrian Keuangan Republik Indonesia, Bank Indonesia and World Bank publications. The method used in this study is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) regression method to see the short-term and long-term relationships of budget deficit to the current account deficit. The results of this study indicate that there is a correlation between the budget deficit and the current account deficit. This is indicated by the empirical results which show that significantly the budget deficit has a correlation with the current account deficit in the short and long term. In the period 1990-1999, the budget balance and the current account showed no correlation. The current account deficit in that period was mainly due to investment patterns. The existence of a balance relationship between the budget balance and the current account is shown in the 2000-2019 period, during which Indonesia implemented a deficit budget system.","PeriodicalId":356521,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economic Development and Social Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129272130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to see the impact of foreign debt in boosting economic growth in the nine selected ASEAN countries. The data used is secondary data obtained from the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, covering 9 ASEAN countries in the 2000-2017 period. This study uses the unbalanced panel data method with a fixed effect model to determine the effect in each country. The results show that foreign debt as a cover for the savings gap is able to stimulate economic growth both directly and through domestic savings channels and population growth. Meanwhile, a high level of domestic saving becomes an obstacle to economic growth, as well as population growth which turns out to be an obstacle to economic growth.","PeriodicalId":356521,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economic Development and Social Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114046118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are 4 measurements that are used to measure money multiplier, electronic money, currency ratio, excess reserve ratio, reserve requirement ratio. To measure velocity of money there are 5 measurements that are used, electronic money, currency, inflation, product domestic product, and interest rate SBI. The result found that in the long term electronic money and currency affected money multiplier M1. On the velocity of money model electronic money and currency affected velocity of money M1 on the long term. The result of impulse response function (IRF) on money multiplier M1 show that electronic money has a positive correlation, while the currency ratio has a negative correlation, on the velocity of money model both electronic money and velocity of money showed a negative correlation. In variance decomposition found that electronic money has a huge contribution to affect money multiplier model and velocity of money model M1. Thus the results of the study can be concluded that electronic money affected both money multiplier M1 and velocity of money M1. The monetary authorities should take electronic money into consideration as crucial variable in the money supply to maintain the stability of money supply.","PeriodicalId":356521,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economic Development and Social Research","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128022605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the financial services authority of Indonesia statistics, based on the type of use, the most credit distribution is micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It can be concluded that credit is the main target of lending by banks. This research was conducted to analyze how internal bank factors can affect bad MSMEs credit Indonesian banks in the first quarter of 2017 to the fourth quarter of 2019 with a CAMEL analysis approach. Independent variables used are Capital, Assets, Management, Earning, and Liquidity, each of which is proxied using CAR, KAP, NIM, ROA, and LDR ratios. The dependent variable used is bad credit, which is proxied by the NPL ratio. The data panel method is used to quantitatively estimate the parameters in the model. The results showed that banking capital fluctuated during 12 quarters, namely from 2017 to 2019. In terms of liquidity, it is known that some banks have liquidity ratios above the tolerance limit set by Bank Indonesia. It is necessary to have control of bank management to inhibit the aggressiveness of lending, as well as to raise deposit rates for banking funding to increase.","PeriodicalId":356521,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economic Development and Social Research","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130672634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
