I focus on offering specialized support and education for women whose pathways to prison or jail are often tied to domestic violence or substance abuse. Through education and wellness programs during and after incarceration, I provide the tools needed for them to become powerful change agents for themselves, their communities, and their children. Many aspects of my life occurring throughout my life have drawn me to this work that I do every day with passion and with a deep sense of purpose.

Counternarratives also provide space for these faculty to interrogate their everyday lived realities and struggles, and demonstrate how they actively resist silencing and erasure through collective action.\u0000NB: The authors capitalize Black, Asian, Brown, and Latinx and not white, when referring to racialized groups to center the collective sense of identity among BIPOC communities.\u0000 \u0000
