The need for such fibre-optical components comes from the desire to bring more control over ultrashortpulsed all-fibre laser parameters and to create on their basis next-generation radiation sources. The report analyses the effects that could be used (some are already used) for controlling the electro-magnetic field inside the optical fibre.
