After the analysis of main source and accumulation causes of upper corner gas in fully mechanized coal face, the technology of managing upper corner gas by pneumatic fan with vortex zone replacement is researched. The best installation location and technical parameters of pneumatic fan have been determined through numerical simulation methods, and the process parameters and the engineering implementation method of replacing upper corner are determined according to the pneumatic fan parameters.
