In the past few decades, China has seen rapid growth in its MICE industry, with milestone events like the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 World Expo. The industry is set to see further growth in China in the future. Beijing, for instance, have estimated a revenue of 30 billion Yuan and a YOY growth rate of over 15%. Around the globe, the MICE industry is considered to be one of the fastest growing industries, especially in the Asia- Pacific region. In the last 20 years, the assessment of events' impact on an economy has been central to event economy studies, and the MICE industry is one of the main components of the event economy. The economic impact of the MICE industry can be studied analog to the studies of the event economy. The approach to studying an event's impact on the economy has evolved over the past years from a rough direct calculation using a tourism index, to input- output models, computable general equilibrium models, and regression analyses. Interregional input- output models(IRIO) can overcome the limitations of the simple I-O model, which is restricted to dealing with local production and demand within one region. They are a more appropriate tool for reflecting conditions across different areas and industries and are also able to explain the diversion and integrated effect of events. For these reasons, IRIOs are one of the most important tools for studying the impact of the MICE industry on an economy. In the past, numerous studies have been conducted to assess and evaluate the economic impact of events. Most of them, however, have concentrated on assessing the impact of sports events at the local or international level. In contrast, research on the economic impact of MICE activities is relatively limited. It requires consideration of all related industries and regions with minimal divergence from reality. This is the precise aim of this study. This study uses an IRIO to deduce and calculate influence coefficients of MICE at both local and interregional levels, focusing on effects across 12 industries and 30 provinces. It uses the 104 th Canton Fair as an example to analyze the indirect impact on the local economy. The results showed that the indirect economic impact of the Canton Fair amounted to 16.243 billion Yuan, of which 35.09% fell in Guangdong province. The proportion of direct to indirect impact from the event was 1:2.94. Five industries- wholesale and retail trade services; electricity, steam and hot water production and supply; paper, printing and stationary and toy products; accommodation and food services; telecommunication and computer services-accounted for 77% of the total impact of the event. This study reveals that MICE have a tremendous driving effect on various industries in most provinces in China. The regional impact demonstrates a difference between the eastern coastal area and th

Public panic is further enhanced by intense media coverage on such events. Tourism is susceptible to crises because of the optionality and instability of tourist consumption. A considerable number of potential visitors would avoid to visiting certain destinations as they are not assured of enough levels of safety or health. Others would visit but their behaviours and experiences will change owing to higher level of risk perception. The smog or air pollution condition in most city of China has sparked off an intense concern to the public not only in China but also internationally. \u0000 \u0000This research aims at answering the question: 'whether smog condition has exerted effects on tourists' risk perception, travelling satisfaction or loyalty to Beijing as a travelling destination' by exploring the perceptions of on-site international and domestic tourists towards the smog in Beijing. The characteristics of tourists' concern over smog condition were explored by interviewing visitors who finished their trips and were about to leave Beijing. Based on the content analysis of the interviewing materials, as well as the review on studies on human attitudes and responses towards air pollution and tourist perception on health related risks, possible concerns were identified. Afterwards, a scale measuring the degree of tourists' concern over smog conditions was developed. Scales evaluating tourist risk perception, satisfaction and loyalty were drawn from previous research. Comprehensive literature review laida solid foundation to the hypothesised model showing correlations among latent variables. A structural equation model was adopted to test the links among smog concern, risk perception, trip satisfaction and destination loyalty. Additionally, on the premise of cross-group invariance of the model, standardised means of latent variables were compared between international and domestic tourists to compare the levels of smog concern, risk perception, satisfaction and loyalty between these two groups. \u0000 \u0000The outcomes of study on tourists' perception and attitudes resulted in the following findings. Firstly, tourists' concerns over smog consist in the harm on their health, emotion, quality of photos, attractiveness of spots and overall travelling satisfaction. Secondly, direct relationships were found for the hypothesized effects of smog concern on risk perception and satisfaction; the influence of risk perception on reducing satisfaction as well as the role of satisfaction in forming revisit intention (loyalty) was identified; Smog concern and risk perception exert negative impact on loyalty indirectly. Furthermore, the comparing result shows that the levels of smog concern, risk perception and loyalty among international tourists are lower than that of Chinese while difference in satisfaction evaluation is not sign

These approaches, which are defined here as endogenous marketing, locate the local citizens at the centre of the promotional efforts. The basis for endogenous tourism marketing lies in linking several concepts in a logical chain. The key concepts to be connected are firstly the need for trust in marketing communications, secondly authenticity and through that concept a realistic treatment of the possible experience at the destination, and finally the likelihood of a genuine welcome from the local destination community. These links constitute a pathway for understanding new endogenous marketing directions for positive destination development.

By combing the uncertain events, this paper divides the uncertain factors into three categories. The first is Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU), which refers to the uncertainty of future tourism development and unpredictable effects of tourism policy. The second is geopolitical risk (GPR), which refers to the risks related to armed conflicts or tensions between countries, which are more exogenous than economic and have a huge impact on inbound and outbound tourism. The third is financial stress (FS), which is concentrated to reflect the uncertainty of changes in the financial system to market, which is more likely to cause uncertain effects on the financial aspects of tourism companies' such as investment and cash flow. A comprehensive discussion of these three types of external uncertainties' impact mechanisms on tourism would help tourism companies to prevent and deal with risk events, and is significant for promoting the upgrade of supply-side transformation of the tourism industry. Based on the existing research, the documents provide good academic value about the impacts of uncertain factors on tourism, but only qualitatively or statically. Therefore, there is still a lack of dynamic research. To this end, We introduces a time-varying parameter vector autoregressive model (TVP-SVAR-SV), which extends the constant parameters of the classic SVAR to the stochastic volatility parameters. This model could capture the time-varying changes of variables caused by external shocks, including gradual changes or potential structural mutations, without the need to split the time series into sub-sequences, that makes it possible to study the characteristics of heteroscedasticity, clustering, asymmetry, and periodic effects of tourism variables. Therefore, based on the advantages of the TVP-SVAR-SV, we studies the impact of EPU, GPR and FS on tourism companies in different intervals or at specific points in time, which will help tourism companies better deal with challenges, seize opportunities, and maintain sustainable development. In summary, this paper exploits the financial data of tourism companies to analyze the dynamic impact of three uncertain factors, EPU, GPR, and FS on China's tourism companies. The results show that the economic policy uncertainty has the greatest impact on the scenic enterprises, especially the uncertainty brought by the SARS epidemic, which has a long-term significant negative effect; The geographical risk will have an obvious downward impact on the travel agency enterprises, which tends to increase in the near future, but has a certain positive impact on the scenic and hotel enterprises; The aggravation of financial pressure will bring strong adverse effects to scenic spots

There has been a rapid rise in the prominence of this area of psychology since the year 2000. Due to its consistency with the social economic concerns of the contemporary era, as well its accordance with ordinary people' s pursuit of happiness, positive psychology has been increasingly adopted by a range of disciplines. Its application in tourism, however, has been very slow. It was first introduced to tourism studies by Dr. Philip Pearce, a tourism psychologist based in Australia, in 2007. \u0000 \u0000This article initially addressed the core ideas about positive psychology. Its background, its differences from the traditional clinical psychology, and its distinctive ways of doing research were reviewed. More importantly, the three core research areas, positive emotion, positive personality, and positive institutions were addressed in detail. The relationships among these three elements were also presented. In addition, positive interventions, which help to achieve the three afore-mentioned outcomes were considered. \u0000 \u0000The highlight of this overview lies in the introduction of earlier positive psychology studies to tourism. The work of Pearce and his colleagues', especially Sebastian Filep, has been thoroughly reviewed and acknowledged. Their work, together with others, fully supports a consistency between the goals of tourism and the aims of positive psychology. For example, tourist behaviour as a case study, the benefits of travelling for individuals can fit in all the elements proposed by Martin Seligman's (2011) PERMA model (e.g. pleasure, engagement, relationships, meaning and achievement). \u0000 \u0000The existing literature which underpins positive psychology and its adoption in tourism is helpful in enriching our understanding. Research in this area, however, can be more insightful and useful if we take the Chinese context into consideration. A critical issue is to incorporate the Chinese cultural issues, especially the influential Confucianism, the Buddhism, as well as the modern communist cultures. These cultural contexts offer insights in exploring the distinctive characters of both Chinese tourist behaviour and the tourism community development. \u0000 \u0000Considering the broader cultural issues and the research in and about China tourism, we proposed three areas for further research. Firstly, there is a paucity of positive psychology studies in tourism community research. As far as China is concerned, where many provinces and regions are using tourism as a tool to enhance local livelihoods, studies about how tourism can improve tourism community's well-being are both timely and important. Secondly, the thinking in positive psychologies can also be applied to the extraordinarily growing Chinese tourist market and consumer studies. Examples include what issues will influence Chinese
