The transition of society from a traditional to a modern form brought changes in the structure of society and caused phenomena such as urbanization, fast pace of life and alienation, which affect changes in our value system. One of the areas that we consequently as a society are beginning to value differently is the concept of the countryside. Today's society relies heavily on industry and technology as a driver of development, which has caused the countryside to change its purpose, functions, symbolism, characteristics and identity. Modern society quite often associates the concept of the countryside with a beautiful, peaceful, clean and happy living environment that can be characterized as idyllic. The emergence of an idyllic idea of the countryside can further influence changes in the concrete rural area. The purpose of the paper is to show that the countryside can be studied as a social construct, which is influenced by the interpretation of the surroundings or wider society. We want to show the characteristics of the perception of the countryside in Slovenia, or to present the evaluation of Slovenian rural regions based on the opinion of the inhabitants of Slovenia, and to show how the social perception of space can affect the changing of various characteristics of the region and the changing pattern of behaviour of residents and visitors.","PeriodicalId":325308,"journal":{"name":"Journal for Geography","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122751637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kot poti za doseganje teh ciljev EU financno podpira stevilne projekte, katerih cilj je razviti ucna orodja (moduli, aplikacije) za izobrazevanje vseh ciljnih skupin preko formalnega in neformalnega pristopa. Kot primer predstavljamo projekt Okoljske spremembe, ki poteka na Filozofski fakulteti v Mariboru in kot rezultat ponuja sest okoljsko naravnanih modulov, ki so prvenstveno namenjeni izvajalcem izobrazevanj ter malim in srednje velikim podjetjem, da bi nadgradile trajnostne prakse. Izpostavljena je interdisciplinarna usmerjenost geografije, ki bi z vkljucevanjem dodatnih trajnostnih pristopov nadgradila pomen geografske znanosti v druzbi.","PeriodicalId":325308,"journal":{"name":"Journal for Geography","volume":"201 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115695779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Soil protection is a relevant topic in times of drought, floods and fires. In view of increasingly difficult growing conditions, soil protection systems are gaining in natural approaches. In 2022, the global movement Save the Soil took place, during which active encouragement for preparation of Soil Strategy was given to various organizations and experts. This article highlights soil protection processes, which are present in Slovenia. The emphasis is on regenerative approaches, which are also supported by the European Commission as part of the Green Deal. Experience shows that such approaches are in the initial phase and that they are proving to be necessary for adaptation to climate change.","PeriodicalId":325308,"journal":{"name":"Journal for Geography","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116153565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, the educational function has influenced significant changes in the educational structure of the population, as well as the initiation of pupils and students from settlements whose place of residence is closer or further from the educational center. This led to a »migration wave« of pupils and students towards Tuzla as the educational center of Northeastern Bosnia. The paper presents an analysis of the contemporary educational function of the city of Tuzla and its changes from the mid-fifties of the last century to today, as well as changes in the educational structure of the population as one of the important indicators of the educational function. When analyzing the gravity area of the educational function of the city, the paper uses data on the territorial range of daily migrations of pupils and students towards the center of education, obtained through field research.","PeriodicalId":325308,"journal":{"name":"Journal for Geography","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127644559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
