Este artículo analiza un corpus de treinta de estas obras, pertenecientes a diversos ámbitos lingüísticos en el marco peninsular, con dos objetivos principales. Por un lado, se trata de establecer cuáles son las principales tipologías textuales dentro de este género, con el fin de comprobar si se pueden identificar una serie de tendencias principales y si existen coincidencias entre los campos literarios implicados. {"title":"Violencia femenina en el cine español del franquismo: La cuarta ventana (Julio Coll, 1963)","authors":"Núria Bou, Xavier Pérez","doi":"10.3828/bhs.2022.52","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3828/bhs.2022.52","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000El artículo quiere rescatar del olvido la película La cuarta ventana (Julio Coll, 1963), que finaliza con una acción violenta por parte de tres prostitutas que arremeten a golpes contra un hombre, mientras aducen que no pueden seguir soportando el constante daño recibido por el género masculino. Lejos de la imagen ideal, doméstica y sumisa de la mujer que promulgó la Sección Femenina de la Falange, estos personajes se levantan con violencia fálica contra el abusivo dominio patriarcal. {"title":"Archive and Authenticity: Cinematic Tourism in El abrazo de la serpiente (2015) by Ciro Guerra","authors":"Ross Swanson","doi":"10.3828/bhs.2022.54","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3828/bhs.2022.54","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000The film El abrazo de la serpiente (2015) by Colombian director Ciro Guerra has been praised for its decolonial and ecological aesthetics. In this article I problematize these readings by arguing that the film, through its references to the archive of Amazonian photography and writing, works to satisfy touristic desires for contact with an ‘authentic’ Other, expressed most clearly in the indigenous shaman character, Karamakate. The film’s touristic aesthetic culminates in the final scenes, in which Karamakate bestows his shamanic knowledge on a white traveller character. This act not only heightens the sense of profound contact with the Other but also constructs a fantasy of reconciliation with indigenous peoples over the violence of colonialism. Álvarez","doi":"10.3828/bhs.2022.49","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3828/bhs.2022.49","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000This article follows the variationist framework and the theoretical claims of scholars studying the sociolinguistics of globalization to analyse the use of the Puerto Rican Spanish backed /r/ in Puerto Rico and Holyoke (Massachusetts, USA). An examination of various (socio)linguistic factors enables analysis of potential backed /r/ variation and any discernible differences in its production in both settings under study. {"title":"Del Freak Show al compromiso: La niña gorda (1917) de Santiago Rusiñol desde una mirada contemporánea","authors":"Irene Gómez-Castellano","doi":"10.3828/bhs.2022.51","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3828/bhs.2022.51","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000En este artículo presento un análisis panorámico de La niña gorda de Santiago Rusiñol y someto el texto a un doble ejercicio de revisionismo: por un lado, cuestiono la lectura algo limitada de la novela como humorística o carnavalesca hecha desde el contexto catalán; y por otro, argumento mediante secciones temáticas el carácter comprometido de esta novela para el propio Rusiñol y defiendo la actualidad de los debates sobre identidad, capitalismo, catalanismo, matrimonio, feminismo y estética que aparecen en sus páginas.
