The pediatric oncology polyclinic in Riau Province, particularly in Pekanbaru City, recorded 1,918 cancer patients. Generally, cancer sufferers are more closed to themselves, withdraw from the environment, and reject what has happened to them, so that most cancer sufferers surrender, lose motivation, and lose self-confidence. Empathic communication can help cancer survivors motivate, understand, and understand their feelings and attitudes, as well as their hopes and desires for the future. As a result, parental empathic communication is required. The purpose of this study was to determine the empathic communication between parents and children with cancer at YKAKI Pekanbaru. This study involved three informants who were parents of children with cancer and one support respondent. Methods of data collection using interviews, observations, and documentation techniques The results of this study indicate that empathetic communication between parents and children can take the form of prioritizing communication, providing motivation to children, showing patience and sincerity, influencing children's responses, and growing a sense of comfort in children. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri Pembangunan Padang. This type of research is qualitative, the research analyzed does not use statistics. The instrument of this research was the research itself and the fable text written by VII grade students of the SMP Negeri Pembangunan Padang. Data collection techniques in this research is by means of documentation. The data analysis technique of this research went through several processes, namely (1) reading fable texts of students' work, (2), reading fables of students' work, (3) looking for language errors (use of spelling) in fable texts of students' work, (4) grouping errors free fable text of student work, and (5) discusses errors in fable text of student work. The results of the first study, the structure in the fable text of VII students of SMP Negeri Pembangunan Padang 99% was made correctly and properly. Second, non-linguistic errors in fable texts written by VII grade students of SMP Negeri Pembangunan Padang, namely mistakes in the use of capital letters, mistakes in prepositions of use, and errors in making particles. This research is correlational. The population is a grade VII student of the Padang State University laboratories which amounted to 203 people. Sampling techniques are purposive sampling with a total of 30 people. To measure the level of physical freshness used TKJI test (Indonesian physical freshness test) for sons and daughters aged 13-15 years and the assessment of Intelligence (IQ) is obtained from the Intellegence (IQ) test in cooperation with the Department of Counseling Faculty of Science Education UNP. Data analysis is done using SPSS 13.0. Based on the results of research findings known average (mean) physical freshness of 12.87 and its deviation (Stardar deviation) 2.12, while the average Intellegence (IQ) is 96.77 and its deviation is 6.93. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran menginterpretasi teks laporan hasil observasi siswa secara lisan melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) kualitas aktivitas siswa menunjukkan berada pada kategori kurang baik adalah siklus I yaitu 7,35 %, siklus II yaitu 3,23 %, siklus III menjadi 1,48 %. Kualitas aktivitas siswa yang berada pada kategori cukup baik adalah siklus I yaitu 72,35 %, siklus II yaitu 48 52 %, siklus III yaitu 36, 76 %, siklus IV menjadi 7,35 %. Kualitas aktivitas siswa yang berada pada kategori baik adalah siklus I yaitu 20,30 %, siklus II yaitu 45,29 %, siklus III yaitu 50 %, dan Siklus IV yaitu 32, 06 %. Sedangkan kualitas aktivitas siswa yang berada pada kategori sangat baik adalah siklus I tidak ada, Siklus II meningkat menjadi 2,94 %, siklus III meningkat menjadi 11,76 %, siklus IV meningkat lagi menjadi 60,58 %. (2) Peningkatan ketuntasan hasil belajar dari tes awal sebesar 38,23 % dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 66,85 menjadi 50 % pada siklus I dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 73,48, terjadi peningkatan lagi pada siklus II menjadi 70,58 % dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 76,66, meningkat lagi pada siklus III menjadi 82,35 % dengan rata-rata kelas 79,40, meningkat lagi pada siklus IV menjadi 97,05 % dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 84,50. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut bisa disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning mampu meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas X IPA.2 SMA Negeri 1 Rambah dalam menginterpretasi teks laporan hasil observasi secara lisan.
