A large part of the exposure occurs during short-term tasks (less than two hours). While many studies show the link between exposure and cancer, these short-term work situations have rarely been evaluated. This study describes the implementation of a sampling and analysis method to assess short-term occupational exposures; and the characterization of the risks of silicosis and bronchopulmonary cancer in road construction and stone cutting over the year 2018. Using CIP10-A for short-term sampling and analysing samples by X-ray diffraction allows tasks to be assessed and the results can be used to convince for preventive action.
