Le concept de frontière, traditionnellement considéré comme une ligne de démarcation entre des États, pose des problèmes sur le continent, mais également en mer malgré son apparition tardive. Aujourd’hui convoitée et conflictuelle, la frontière maritime pose des problèmes de délimitation et donc de revendication étatique de souveraineté. En dépit du droit de la mer, on observe la remise en cause des cadres spatiaux légués par les Conventions étatiques, en particulier dans les zones frontalières animées par de multiples enjeux économiques, mais surtout de tutelle géopolitique. C’est le cas de l’Afrique centrale qui devient un espace de perturbation géopolitique entre tentative de recomposition interne et refonte du leadership sous-régional.","PeriodicalId":294767,"journal":{"name":"Cahiers de Science Politique de l’Université de Liège","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129440793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"The State of the Cyprus Question","authors":"J. Using scientific literature mainly, this present work is giving a broad overview and understanding of the main issues at stake, while acknowledging that not all the aspects of the conflict and its resolution are brought up. Moreover, a theoretical approach is used to define the type of reconciliation process ongoing in Cyprus and the several challenges it has faced in the past. Thus, this paper is structured as follows: firstly, the historical and political context in which the Cyprus question erupted is detailed. Afterwards, the notion of reconciliation is theoretically developed. In the third part, we enounce the issues that challenge and delay the peace process. That section acknowledges: one, the important role of the “motherlands” on Cyprus’ reconciliation; two, the issue of identity and nationalism in this context, and three, the rejection of the Annan plan and its consequences are mentioned. In the conclusion, a formulated response to the research question is provided and a short reflection over the “almost moral” imperative to reconcile former enemies concludes the paper.","PeriodicalId":294767,"journal":{"name":"Cahiers de Science Politique de l’Université de Liège","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123187483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
