Complementary feeding, known as MPASI in Indonesian, refers to the introduction of solid foods and liquids to infants aged 6 to 24 months. In Indonesia, stunting is a significant health issue that cannot be ignored. According to the National Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) data, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia reached 21.6% in 2022, ranking fifth globally and second in Southeast Asia. Specifically, Jember Regency holds the first position in East Java, with a staggering rate of 34.9%. The occurrence of stunting in children can be influenced by inappropriate quality and timing of MPASI provision. One potential intervention to address the stunting problem in Jember Lor Subdistrict, Patrang District, Jember Regency, East Java Province, is to provide training on processed MPASI products, such as catfish nuggets. Catfish is a type of fish rich in protein and amino acids. Lysine, an amino acid found in catfish, can positively impact child growth, tissue repair, antibody production, and calcium absorption. The community engagement activities in this initiative utilize a mass communication approach through education and training sessions. The promotion of balanced nutritious food and training on local food processing, specifically catfish nuggets, aims to prevent and control stunting conditions in Jember Lor Subdistrict, Patrang District, Jember Regency, East Java Province.","PeriodicalId":293164,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Kabar Masyarakat","volume":"12 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139604339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sexual harassment is a serious issue that can endanger the mental and physical health of individuals, especially teenagers. Students of SMK (Vocational High School) belong to a vulnerable group at risk of experiencing sexual harassment. The community service method is implemented through collaboration between speakers, educators, and the school authorities. The first step is to identify issues related to sexual harassment that are relevant to the context of SMK students. Subsequently, appropriate and informative educational materials are developed based on comprehensive and responsible principles of sexual education. Then, the education is conducted through interactive sessions involving presentations, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing games. The educational materials cover understanding the definition of sexual harassment, types of sexual harassment, its impact on the health and well-being of students, prevention strategies, and how to report cases of sexual harassment. This community service is an important initial step in combating sexual harassment among the students of SMK Kartini. Continuous education and collaborative efforts among the school, families, and the community are necessary to create sustainable changes in behavior and attitudes towards sexual harassment. The pattern of excessive consumption of junk food is commonly found in adolescent groups. This can lead to nutritional problems such as underweight and obesity which can act as risk factors for various non-communicable diseases (PTM) such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cancer, cardiovascular disease and others. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of the dangers of consuming junk food in adolescents through health education activities using power point media. This activity was carried out at SMAN 1 Moyo Utara with a total of 50 students in class X. The series of activities began with a pretest, delivery of counseling and posttest activities. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that there were differences in knowledge before and after counseling (0.021). With increased understanding, it is expected to be able to encourage students to be more selective in choosing the type of food to be consumed so that they can avoid various types of PTM.","PeriodicalId":293164,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Kabar Masyarakat","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139372668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
