HISTORY OF THE REGIONS\u0000OF FORMER YUGOSLAVIA IN HISTORY TEXTBOOKS USED IN SLOVENIA IN THE\u000020TH CENTURY\u0000The paper deals with the presentation and interpretation of history of the\u0000regions of ex-Yugoslavia in history textbooks for comprehensive schools used\u0000on the territory of present-day Slovenia between 1911 and 2012. The textbooks\u0000are an important brick in the construction of collective memory. Their authors\u0000are obliged to consider the results of historical science and the age of the pupils as well as the dominating ideologies and cultural values. The latter was all\u0000the more important because of the succession of several states and political\u0000regimes on the territory of present-day Slovenia during the 20th century and\u0000because of profound transformations of Slovenian society. The analysis shows\u0000that pupils who went to school between 1920 and 2000 could have gained good\u0000knowledge of the past and culture of South Slavs, whereas knowledge provided\u0000by textbooks written thereafter is scarce and reduced to the political vicissitudes of the 20th century. The paper identifies major ideologies and suppositions that underlay the presentation and interpretation of certain topics in the\u0000textbooks: the national ideology, the feeling of historical injustice, the ideology\u0000of the Yugoslav integralism, the ideology of brotherhood and unity, the socialist\u0000ideology and the ideology of the reintegration in Europe.\u0000Keywords: history textbooks, Slovene comprehensive schools, Yugoslavs,\u0000dominant ideologies, cultural values
La mémoire et ses enjeux. Nevertheless, the authors of the article have tried to compare them, relying\u0000primarily on the concept represented by Pierre Nora in the work of Les Lieux de\u0000mémoire, as well as on the distinction the author makes between the notions\u0000of memory and history. A certain tradition of national memory was imposed\u0000through the educational system in the Third Republic in France. But, in the early\u00001960s, the historical researches largely contributed to the differentiation from\u0000the traditionalist approach of interpreting history as a national novel: history\u0000was increasingly recognized as a social and anthropological discipline and the\u0000issues of an epistemological (history of history), theoretical and methodological\u0000nature were highlighted accordingly.\u0000The attention of researchers and a wide readership stays occupied by\u0000controversy over the interpretation of contemporary events (WWII, decolonization). In the wake of the brutal events of the 1990s, which resulted in the rebirth\u0000of different entities from the former Yugoslavia, the main antithesis of the place\u0000of memorial memory (which applies only to Yugoslavia / which refers to new,\u0000national entities) has, in some ways, been transformed. And the transformation\u0000was quite unbalanced, given that the commemoration of memorial events by\u0000the newly-created states is, above all, a matter of political choice. Each newly\u0000formed state asks its own questions: What has been deleted? What came to\u0000light and at what cost? How did each state instrumentalize its historical memory\u0000in the specific context?\u0000Keywords: Memorial memory, France, Former Yugoslavia, Balkans, history, nationalism / we
La mémoire et ses enjeux.
